*Frisk's POV*
Life was wonderful before the coffee shop encounter.
Let me start from the beginning.
After G had left, I asked the man at the station (Knowing G had already prepared him with criminals) where the closest bus stop was. He answered, "Two miles North, should be one there."
Being a bit annoyed with the distance didn't stop me from thanking the man and heading North.
The chains from the cuffs, which still tightened my wrist, dangled against my legs and hands, which had become quite annoying after a while of walking.
Finally, I found the bus stop and a smile stretched across my lips while I ran to it.
There it was, in the dark of night, a small bus sign with a bench and times next to it.
Two hours.
Two hours, I waited for the blue bus to finally pass, stopping only the second time when they realized someone actually needed a ride.
"Just you today miss," The driver said as I walked in.
I looked back at the seats, and saw only the remains of trash and something that looked like thrown up alcohol.
Cringing at the sight, I began to sit down, knowing the bus driver was eyeing my prison uniform and chains.
"Miss," He said, stopping me, "... Pay?"
I hesitated and gulped, stress beginning to shake me.
Sighing in defeat, not willing to rob this man of his time, I turned back to the front and asked in a timid weak voice, "... Where is the nearest city...?"
I don't know what made the bus driver change his mind, maybe it was his shock at my honesty, maybe his pity for my weakness, or maybe because he was truly just good hearted; But he grunted and threw his thumb behind him to the seats, saying, "Alright then miss, just sit down."
Despite myself, I smiled.
Although I had the feeling I had tricked the poor bus driver, and slight regret slipped into my thoughts.
'No,' I argued with myself, 'No more regret. This is a new life, a new you.'
If only I had known how much regret would come.
After hours, and hours, passing towns, fields, so much the eye could see, we came to the city.
Oh the city was wonderful!
I had forgotten what it looked like, the shinning lights that flashed in the dark night, the speeding cars and slow traffic, the walking people, the begging people, the stores that opened all night long and had people flooding in and out.
Oh how much I loved it!
I could feel my heart fluttering at the sight, my head spinning with excitement, as if I was freeing myself all over again.
Like I was in the car speeding down the road with G again.
Shoving him aside, reminding myself that this was a new life without him, I stared out the window of the bus in awe, thoughts spinning in my head of how I would make my life there.
"Here!" I said to the bus driver, noticing his smile and twinkling eyes, "I would like to stop here please!"
He didn't hesitate and let me out at the first bus stop.
Life was hard then, took me a while to get it on track.
One year, in fact.
That's why I was nineteen years old. Living in a white apartment on the middle floor, with a large window as one of the walls. Of course the window had blinds for privacy, yet the only thing that would be hidden is the living room and kitchen that were connected.
