Chapter 27

707 POV:

She thinks we are going together. I can't let her get hurt, not after Saeren. My plan is to leave in the middle of the night and go to save Lilith. Of course Y/N would never approve but it's all I have.

I need to make sure Lilith and Y/N are both safe.

After Y/N falls asleep, I gently and quietly get up. I grab my stuff and load them into my car. Before leaving, I leave a note on Y/N's phone saying:

Y/N
Whatever you do, don't follow me. I will be back shortly. I have decided to get Lilith on my own because I can't afford you getting hurt. You are someone I really care about and I don't want you getting hurt. I'll be back shortly,

I walk over to Y/N and kneel down by her face. I kiss her lips gently, getting one last kiss if I don't make it back.

I get up and walk out the door and into my car. I put Lilith's location into my GPS and start driving.

The radio plays quietly. The drive is about 2 hours away. I arrive and park about 1/2 a mile away from the barn she is kept in.

The barn is kept in a clearing in a late patch of trees. I sneak to the front of the barn door and try to open the door. It's locked with a key. I grab two bobby pins I swiped from Y/N when she was sleeping and unlock the door.

I slowly walk inside and call out. "Lilith?.."

No answer. I tip toe to the corner she should be in but no one is there. I suddenly feel an arm wrapped around my neck, trying to choke me. There is a sharp piece of glass pushed against my throat, not making a cut but I can definitely feel a slight burn.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" I hear a voice. It's a girls voice.

I choke out, "L-Lilith....I......S-she.....Y-Y/N....."

That makes Lilith drop the glass and back away from me.

"You know where Y/N is?.....After all these years?..." she asks me, tears in her eyes.

"Yes Lilith. I am Luciel, Y/N's best friend and I came here to get you out of here." I say to her, holding out my hand.

She glares at me and swats away my hand. "I can't trust you....you could just hurt me right now..."

"Here....umm...ask me a question. I'll answer it and if I get it correct come with me. If I get it incorrect, I will leave." I say.

"F-fine...hmm...when is my birthday?..." she asks me.

"It was today. You turned 13 today and Y/N had to stop from crying. She had it written on her calendar and would never stop looking at it." I say.

Her eyes widen. "So...you are telling the truth?..."

"Yes. I promise. Please, just come with me."

"O-okay..." she says.

"Where are your parents?" I ask her.

"Well....ever since they locked me in here....they accidentally locked themselves in here and they shot themselves on the spot." She says grimly.

"Oh..." I say, surprises that they died.

She points to two dead bodies in the corner. "That's them....but please, I don't want to see them ever again. Let's just go."

"Okay.....let's go." I reply, shivering at the thought of her parents.
