"Everyone seems nice." I smiled as Natsu and I walked in the hallway towards the lunch room. Suddenly, an echo ran throughout the halls as everyone went silent. Everyone turned their head to a giant guy on the ground, crouching closer to the lockers, as papers, books, and binders scattered across the floor. A more intimidating guy stood over him. "What did you say 'bout me, meat head?" The guy with a dark grey hoodie hovered over the guy and scowled. The guy on the floor was shaking in fear. "I d-din't say anythin'" he protested. "Liar!" The metal head growled as he raised his fist in the air. My eyes widened.

His arm approached his face, but stopped halfway through its destination as I stood between the crossfire. I stood firmly, staring at the fist that was inches away from my face. I hovered over the legs of the guy on the ground. My eyes narrowed, "what do you think you're doing?!" Angered, I didn't remove eye contact. The bully seemed intimidated by it, but remained his composure. "Move out of my way princess!" He mocked. "No!" I remarked. Feet scurried behind me as I looked back to see the other guy get up from the ground and run away. "You made him get away!" The guy scoffed. "Good!" He huffed and averted his head. "You can't just go pick on smaller guys than you!" His head averted back to me as his eyes widened. "Smaller???!!!! Have you seen him?? He ain't small. Droy is a beast!"

I clenched my fist, holding back my anger. "Small or not, you shouldn't pick on him. Besides, he's no beast. He's human. But are you?" Both of us had narrowed eyes and everything went silent as we glared at each other with hatred, neither of us backing down. "You think you're so tough?"

I shook my head, "no. In fact I'm not. But I will be when I have to." He huffed. "Lucy..." breaking out of the eye contact, I turned to see Natsu, who had grabbed ahead of my wrist. My body eased down. "Yeah?"

"We should go get lunch." He glared at the other guy as I nodded my head. He pulled me away.

We walked to Natsu's house. "That was so cool Lucy!!!" Happy exclaimed in excitement. "Don't encourage her!" Natsu whined as he took a quick glance at Happy. He then looked at me with a serious face, "you shouldn't be so reckless. You could've gotten hurt." Those words caught me by surprise. I stopped walking, and once he noticed, he did to. I turned my body to face him. He seemed to be a little taller than I.

My eyes darted at his, making him uncomfortable. "I wasn't gonna stand there and watch that happen!" I yelled in defense. Speechless, Natsu eyes widened. I sighed, "whatever...I need to clear my head." With that, I walked away in the opposite direction.

-
I stared out ahead of me as I walked passed a small lake as the sunset reflected over it. Sighing, I took a seat on the grass while the wind crossed my skin, sending shivers through the little hairs. I had my legs to the left of my body as I sat with my right arm leaning on the ground to support my weight.

Birds sang and trees whistled. Everything was peaceful. I looked at the sky. The stars shone so beautifully. I started twiddling with my little charm bracelet, gently rubbing my thumb across the Aquarius charm. I closed my eyes. "Mom...if you can hear me..." I started to whisper. "Please protect me throughout my journey." I took a small breath and slowly opened my eyes. I glanced at the sky, when I noticed a bright white sparkle swim across the sky.

"I miss you"

~
"Welcome back!" Natsu and Happy cheered as I entered through the door. Shocked by this, all I could do was chuckle. "Thanks." I set my bag on a hook from a coat rack. "We just made dinner." My stomachs growled. "What'd you guys cook?" I walked toward them, who were in the kitchen. A sweat drop appeared as I stared at the pot. "Fish." Happy smiled. "Again?" I questioned. Happy's voice became slightly more sad, "well...it's all I know how to cook." Guilty, I ruffled his hair. "Then I want some." His eyes widened as a smile appeared. "Aye!" I laughed.

-
Natsu rubbed his stomach as he let out a burp. "Eww gross!" I pinched my nose to block out the smell. Natsu and Happy just laughed. "Good one buddy!" Happy encouraged him. Natsu grinned at his friend, "thanks!" I rolled my eyes. "I'll clean up." I offered as I stacked the 3 dirty plates on one another. I brought them over to the sink and turned on the water. Grabbing the sponge, I covered it with the soap and started a circular motion on the white plates. "Thanks Lucy!" Natsu yelled from the other room. I smiled. "Go to sleep!" I chuckled in response.

Getting out the shower, I wrapped the towel around my body as I used a smaller towel to ruffle my hair. I put on a pair of black gym shorts and a dark blue short sleeve t shirt. I exited the bathroom, turning off the lights. I headed towards Natsu's room. The other lights in the living room were off. I guess they fell asleep already.

I didn't bother turning on the lights in his room. I settled down on the bed. I looked over at the desk. Sighing, I got up and headed toward it. A picture caught my eyes in surprise. I picked up the picture frame. Inside, it held a picture of a girl with short white hair and then there was Happy when he was younger and Natsu too. They were so small. Happy seemed to be around 5 years old. That'll make Natsu 6. But who is the other girl?

I placed the picture frame down as I looked at the other things on the desk. I laid my eyes on a small locket. It was a bronze heart with a dragon carved into it. Near the bottom of the dragon, there was a small purple orb that sparkled. I rubbed my finger up and down the locket, scanning the texture. I hesitantly opened the locket. There, appeared a tiny photo of a pink haired little kid with a red shirt and a small red lizard in his hand. Next to him, stood a guy with pure black spiky hair and grey spectacles. He was just a little taller than Natsu. He had a black leather jacket on, that had red linings.

"That's my brother, Zeref." My body jumped at the sudden voice that appeared behind me. I turned around, placing my hand over my heart in relief. "You startled me." He gave a small faint smile, so faint, you could barely see it was there. He slowly approached next to me, looking at the locket. We both faced the desk as I held the locket in my palm. "What was the lizard's name?" He chuckled, "as odd as it sounds, I named him Igneel."

"You named him after your dad?"
Natsu nodded.

"What happened with your brother?" I looked up at him as the moonlight reflected on his shining eyes. "I killed him." My heart stopped as my eyes widened wth fear. "W-what?"  He placed a hand on my left shoulder, which startled me. "Calm down. Here's what happened..."

He explained what happened with his brother. [A/N- you guys don't get to know yet😈😈] My eyes widened as I felt sadness disperse throughout me. "That must've been so terrifying for you to go through." At this point, we both were sitting on his bed. He held the opened locket in his hand as he stared at it. "Yeah..." his voice was quiet. "Well at least you have Happy. And now you got me." He slightly smiled, but didn't look up right away. Eventually he did, "yeah" he continued to smile, only lightly.

"Go get some sleep" I gave a smile back. He nodded, slowly getting off his bed. Before completely closing the door, he whispered, "night". I averted my head to Natsu who had a fake smile spreaded across. I gave one back, "good night." He closed the door, completely blocking out the light from the hallway. It was dark in here. The only light came from the moonlight shining through the window which was in front of the desk. I slowly laid down on my side, staring at the rest of the room. I pulled the blanket up to my neck and closed my eyes. "Good night mom." I whispered as I drifted off into sleep.
