Vixen whipped her head up at the creaking of a door. Her eyes shifted to the door where Shale stood. He was frowning and staring at Vixen.
"Do you mind? I was sleeping." She snapped. Shale jumped back. His eyes drifted away, as if lost in thought. He shook his head and backed away.
"Right. Sorry. Meet me in the kitchen when you wake up." His voice shook and the door closed. Vixen watched after him and growled. She flung her blankets off and swung her legs over her bed. Her feet pressed into the carpet and she stood up. The sunlight filled the room. Making it useless to turn the lights on.  Vixen pulled on some socks and left the room. She walked down the hall into the kitchen.  Shale sat at the table with his head resting in his hands. As soon as Vixen entered he looked up.
"I'm leaving again, and this time I don't want you going anywhere outside. Got it?" He said seriously. Vixen coughed to hide a laugh. She looked up with a smile in her face. Nodding vigorously.
"You could always take me with you." She joked. Shale huffed a laugh before getting up. He walked towards the door and opened it. Looking back and muttering something before leaving. Vixen waited before rushing towards the door. Slipping her shoes and checking to see if Shale had left. When she was certain he had gone she opened the door and left. The sun was high in the sky. No clouds covered the blue sky. Vixen began walking. The school came into view. She walked past it with a frown. She'd be starting tomorrow. She wondered how many other vampires went to school. Did they go to their own hidden school? Was Shale going to join her there? She brushed off the questions, remembering to ask Shale when he got back. Vixen walked farther into town. Her destination being the place of yesterday. Where she met the other vampires. The alley was quite and covered with yellow police tape. Vixen looked around, making sure no one was watching, before slipping in. She looked around at the blood. Blood everywhere. On the walls and ground. The smell of death drifted in the air. She guessed their must have been over five people killed last night alone. Despite the gruesome seen Vixen began looking around. For ay clue that could show her where the vampires went. Suddenly she found it. A small trail of blood leading to a door. She wiggled the handle, checking if it was unlocked. Suddenly the door opened. Revealing a long dark hallway, leading down. Vixen took a deep breath and walked inside. Silently shutting the door behind her. The room was plunged into darkness. She stretched her hand out, feeling for the wall. Suddenly she pulled back. The walls were damp with something. Vixen brought her fingers to her nose and sniffed. Blood. Blood lined the walls.
"At least I know I'm going the right way." Vixen laughed. She took a deep, straggly breath and felt for the walls again. Helping them lead her down the steps. The hall seemed to last forever. Until it stopped suddenly. In front of Vixen was a large room. Lit by candles. Vixen froze, terrified. She took a few steps forward, into the room. A small creek of water ran around the circled room. She looked around in awe. A few tunnels led here and there. Her eyes caught the biggest tunnel. She smiled and walked towards it. Using the wall to lead her again. This hall wasn't quite as long. Vixen walked into another, larger room. It looked like someone had been here, recently. As soon as Vixen took a step forward she froze. Someone was breathing behind her. She turned her head slightly and took a sharp intake of breath. A knife came to her throat and she stopped moving. A voice spoke behind her. Cool and calm.
"Hello, love. Seems you happened upon our little base." Vixen closed her eyes and swore silently. She had been caught.
