Vixen watched Shale pace the cage. He muttered under his breath, and kept glancing towards Vixen. Mickelson stood beside Vixen, waiting for her to speak.
"Shale?" She said. Shale continued pacing and muttering.
"Shale!" She said louder, this made him stop. He glanced up at her. The life drained from his eyes. Vixen glanced away, to ashamed to meet his eyes.
"Shale. I only did this for answers." She said. Shale continued to stare at her. Vixen grew frustrated.
"See! This is what I mean. You never tell me the truth, but now that stops. I need answers, and I know you have them." She shouted. Shale flinched a little, still not speaking. Vixen sighed, giving up for the moment. Mickelson kept watch on Shale, and Vixen wandered a ways away. Kimberly looked to the black hair boy in the cage then to Vixen. A small smile crossed his face. He walked over to her and whispered something. Shale watched, his eyes still looking distant. Vixen glanced up at Kimberly and shook her head. He whispered something again, this time making Vixen mad.
"I said no. It's surprisingly you use to follow someone, considering you can't understand when someone tells you something." Kimberly seemed a little taken back. He narrowed his eyes and got close to Vixen's face.
"I was one of her commanding officers, thank you very much. Never doubt me." He hissed. Vixen turned away from him and walked back to Shale. Leaving Kimberly grumbling by the door. Mickelson looked at him and chuckled. Getting an evil look from Kimberly. Vixen stared at Shale for a long while before saying.
"You know about my past. I know, you know. So tell me." She said, trying to hide the anger in her voice. Shale looked at her for a long while before speaking.
"I know more than you think. I was with you from the beginning. I was always there, you just don't remember. I can't make you remember. That would be worse." He whispered. Vixen shot him a look and growled.
"God dammit, Shale, tell me." Shale flicked his head up to her. All emotion wiped from his face. His eyes filled with sadness and anger.
"Why couldn't you just leave it alone. I tried to take your mind off of the past. You should have just left it alone. This is all your fault, and there's nothing I can do to change it." He shouted, making Vixen jump. Even Kimberly looked a little scared. From what Vixen had learned about Shale when he was still in alliance with Mors, he use to be her number one. Which, in her opinion, means he was capable of more then just murder. She didn't want to push him too far over the edge. Mickelson, unlike everyone else, just stared at Shale. His eyes focusing on him. He crossed his arms and spoke.
"So what is it? What are you hiding?" He asked. Shale shot his eyes away from him.
"Nothing." He said rather sternly. Mickelson laughed.
"Come on. You know I won't fall for that. I fought beside you, I use to call you friend. I know everything there is to know about you, including how mad you get when you'r trying to hide something." Shale stared at him for awhile.
"There's nothing left for me to say. There's nothing left you can do." He whispered, turning to Vixen.
"I'm so sorry it had to come to this. You should have let it go." Vixen opened her mouth to ask him something, but she was silenced by shouting coming from outside. Kimberly walked towards the door, just as it was forced open.
"There here. They found us. There attacking." He yelled, his words jumbled into one. Kimberly stared at him.
"Slow down. Whats happening?" Mickelson yelled. The vampire looked up into his eyes, fear striking through him.
"The Regina. There here." Vixen turned to look at Shale. He was staring at the ground.
"How could you? This'll be a blood bath." She whispered to him. He looked up at her.
"It was already a blood bath." Mickelson grabbed Vixen's arm and turned her around.
"Come on. We need to get out of here, quickly." He yelled running towards the door, with Kimberly in front of him. With one last look at Shale, Vixen took off. The second she was outside, everything changed. Vampires were fighting one another. Blood splattered the walls, as bodies piled up. Someone had set fire to a small part of the room, engulfing the rest in smoke. She froze. The scene around her became slowed, and blurry. Despite not liking, or knowing these vampires, she felt a heavy sadness inside her. Her eyes moved around, as she saw someone running towards her. They grabbed her shoulders and shook her a bit.
"Vixen, Vixen snap out of it. we have to go now." Vixen slowly came back to reality. She looked around as the Regina slowly began to kill more and more. Soon they're would be no one left between her and them. Grabbing Mickelson's arm, she raced off, out of the tunnels. Kimberly waited impatiently at the entrance. As soon as he saw them making there way towards the outside, he took off. Vixen followed him, with Mickelson close behind.
"Did anyone else make it out?" She asked Kimberly, when they had stopped. Kimberly whipped around and faced Vixen. Shoving her against a wall.
"How the hell am I suppose to know! Thanks to your boyfriend, half of my people are dead. The Regina have found our base, and Mors' army is now dwindling. Give me one good reason not to kill you right now." He yelled. His eyes turning a dark crimson red. Vixen stared into his eyes. Your right, she thought, this is all my fault. If I didn't want answers so badly, Shale wouldn't have told the Regina about there base. You and Mickelson could have considered to rule the way they wanted. So go ahead. Kill me. Kimberly clenched his fist before withdrawing. Mickelson pulled him aside, and whispered something into his ear.
Don't let him do that to you. Install fear into him. He'll listen to you then. A voice inside her whispered. Vixen shook her head and looked around. Her eyes stopping on a single spot.
"Guys." She said. Kimberly and Mickelson looked at her. They shifted there gaze to where Vixen was looking.
"Shit." Kimberly whispered. In front of them was an army. The Regina had caught up to them. Vixen took a step forward, and instantly guns pinned her down.
"When I raise my hand, run." She whispered to Kimberly and Mickelson. Mickelson went to argue, but caught the look she gave him. Slowly Vixen began to talk.
"We wont fight." Slowly she raised her hand in the air. Mickelson and Kimberly took off, just as Vixen ran towards the army. The guns clicked, as the vampires behind them aimed at her.
"Stop!" Someone shouted. Vixen froze as a very pail, lady stepped forward. She wore a red dress and a red smile.
"Do not fire at her. We will do this the way we always have. Give her a fair court." The woman looked down at Vixen and smiled.
"Though I doubt you'll ever win." With that, Vixen's world went black.
