Shale continued down the rode. Driving past the house. Vixen looked out the window then turned to Shale.
"Um, you do know you just passed the house. Right?" Vixen asked. Shale smiled and turned to look at her. He simply chuckled and left her in confusion. They rode past the sign to the town. She watched as the housed changed to rolling hills. The country always memorized her. Soon, though, the came to a stop next to a long gravel road. Shale got out and walked over to the passenger side. He opened the door and let Vixen out. She thanked him with a nod but looked around.
"So. You gonna tell me why we're here?" She asked. Shale laughed and began to walk down the road. Vixen growled in annoyance and ran to catch up with him. When she did she didn't stop pestering him. Asking the most random questions just to get his attention.
"So when's your birthday?" She asked. Shale glanced over at her.
"I'm a non aging vampire. I don't have a birthday anymore." He stated. Vixen laughed at her own stupidity.
"Well when was it? Come on. Please." She begged. Shale growled but smiled.
"April 15." He said. Vixen smiled.
"Mines," She went to say. A frown crossed her face and she dropped her head. Shale glanced at her and frowned to. He perked his head up and nudged her. Vixen looked up in amazement. In front of her stood a large, rundown mansion.
"Looks haunted." She said. Shale laughed and walked up to the door.
"We're staying here for awhile. Just until I can make sure we're not going to be killed at home." He said. Vixen looked around. She wouldn't mind being here. A lot of room to run and the house look big enough to keep a good distance from her and whoever lived here.
"So who's house is this?" She asked. Shale turned to her.
"My parents." He said. Vixen's eyes widened. Shale had parents? The door swung open revealing an old couple. They smiled warmly at Shale then turned to Vixen.
"Oh, this is the girl you've been talking about. Nice to meet you. Come in, come in." The woman said. Vixen shot a glance at Shale before walking in. The inside was nothing like the outside. The floors we're made of wood and the walls we're painted a dark blue. There was a winding staircase in in one corner and a TV in another. The place was pretty well cared for, for a pair of elderly people. She watched the old woman walk into a doorway and disappear.
"Shale. Your parents are. Well, old." She whispered, catching an evil glare from him. She put up her hands in defiance.
"No offense. But your a vampire and they. I don't think they are, really." She said. Shale stared at her with a cold gaze. Vixen could tell she said something wrong.
"Shale you can have your old room. You, miss, can have the room on the third floor." Shale's father said. He stared at Shale a while before following the woman into the kitchen. Vixen watched as the living room became empty. She glanced around before grumbling something and heading up the long flight of stairs. She glanced up to the ceiling and groaned.
"Who thought of making steps this fucking long."
"Someone who wanted people to complain a lot." Vixen jumped at the voice behind her. She turned around and came face to face with Shale. An angry frown appeared on her face.
"Don't sneak up on me like that. Ever again." She growled. Shale smiled and walked in front of her. Vixen growled to herself and continued up. Finally, after what seemed like hours, she reached her room. It was a large room with a bed in one corner and a dresser in another. A closet lined one wall. Nothing but empty hangers hung on the wood poll. Vixen sighed as she realized something.
"Shale!" She shouted. She could hear a loud bang then the sound of footsteps coming up the steps. Shale opened the door and stared at Vixen.
"What? Why did you scream bloody murder?" He growled. Vixen smiled, amused.
"I never screamed bloody murder. I yelled your name. I wanted to say I'm gonna need stuff." Shale looked confused and angry. Vixen sighted, angrily, and explained.
"Clothes, blankets, pillows." Answers, she added in her head. Shale turned around and walked out the door. Furious, Vixen grabbed his shoulder to stop him.
"Where are you going? Did you even hear what I said?" She asked. Shale chuckled and turned his head towards her.
"Yes. I'm going to get you everything you want, princess." He growled slightly. Vixen let go of his shoulder and crossed her arms.
"Fine. Don't call me princess." She grumbled and went back to her room. Below she could hear Shale talking with his parents and a door closing. She was alone. Vixen looked around a bit more. There wasn't anymore furniture in the room except for the bed and dresser. On one side of the wall was a large window. She walked over to it and tried to open it. With a little effort, it slid open. Vixen stretched her head out and took a deep breath of the evening air. She watched the sun slowly fall out of the sky. Finally her door opened again and Shale entered. He carried two large bags of stuff and set them down.
"If you want theres my mother made food." He whispered before shutting the door. Vixen narrowed her eyes. What was up with him? She shrugged off the thought and grabbed the bags. Just like asked, Shale bought blankets, pillows, clothes, and something else. Vixen reached down and pulled out a small bag. She looked inside and laughed.
"A sub. Really? You know me so well." She chuckled and walked over to the window, again. Unwrapping the sandwich and taking a bite. Though it gave her no energy or helped sustain her hunger, if still tasted good. She looked back up at the night sky. Stars twinkled here and there. The moon was nothing but a crescent. A rustling averted her attention to below her window. Her eyes widened and her mouth hung ajar. Outside her window, looking right at her, was none other than Mickelson.

Wow. So sorry this chapter was so random. XD. What do you think? What does Mickelson what? Why is Shale acting so weird? What will Vixen do now?
