Clary's POV
We all went to the library. JJ following close behind with John and Keta. We all sat down once we arrived in the library, JJ finding his way on my lap. I sighed and began to speak, "Ok. So this is JJ. He is four years old, turning five in a few days. He...he is my son," that received a gasp from the New York Institute, "And...Jace is the father." Everyone, but John and Keta- they already knew that- looked at Jace with agape expressions. "That is the man you left, momma?" JJ asked me. I nodded trying to keep tears from falling. "Yeah, baby boy. This is my other family, apart from the boys in the group. Here you will find your grandparents, aunts, and uncles. This is where mommy grew up," I looked at Jace who had tears built up in his eyes, "This is where you will find the man you have been dying to meet," I turned my attention back to JJ and whispered, "Go say hi to him. Show off your surprise on your back to let him know who you are." "Are you sure, momma?" I nodded. He stood up and walked over to where Jace was staring at the boy who walked towards the boy in awe. When JJ reached Jace he took his hand. JJ let his father see the surprise on his back: wings. yes, JJ Morgenstern has wings, too.
Jace stared in awe at the sight before him. The little four year old with wings and most likely with powers was standing right infront of him, holding his hand. "It's nice to finally meet you, dad." Jace couldn't help but smile, "And it's nice to meet you little man. I promise I will never leave you or your mother-," he looked at me, "again." I stood up and walked out of the library towards the training room. I stayed there replaying what Jace said, "I am not leaving you or your mother again." IT wasn't what he said that awed her, it was the way he said it. The way his voice sounded whenever he told Clary he loved her for the first time. The way his voice sounded whenever he promised to never hurt me again. Look at how that got me.
