Gryffindor Common Room

Harry and co walked into their common room after a hard day of classes. Well hard for Ron anyway. The three friends made their way over to their claimed seats right in front of the fire place. Harry reached into his bag and pulled out a book and started to read.

Hermione and Ron stared at Harry like he had just grown two new heads and started calling himself Fluffy.

"Harry...Are you...READING?!" Ron staggered out, having been a lost for words. Harry looked over the edge of his book at Ron. "Yes and?"

If it was possible, Ron's mouth dropped all the way to the floor, then threw it, and fell all the way down to the dungons. "Harry. You and I, we don't read! I've only seen you read two books. One being Quidditch Threwout the Ages so that doesn't count and the other was Snapes old potions book back in sixth year." said Ron.

"Well I was at the School Library-" Harry was interrupted here by both Ron and Hermione gasping. "-And I was looking threw the Muggle Section. I heard that this is a great Muggle novel so I decided to read it."

"What book is it? I have read all the books in the Muggle Section. Some even before I came to Hogwarts." Hermione said as she snatched the book away, not even bothering to wait for Harry to hand over the book. Making sure that she kept her finger on Harry's page, Hermione closed the book and read the title.

To Kill a Mockingbird.

Hermione nodded her head in approval. "That is a very good book. It is concidered an American Classic."

"So whats it doing in an English Wizard school?" Ron asked, not being able to wrap the idea of why Harry would want to read an American book. "Ron there are lost of American Muggle Books at Hogwarts. Some of my favorite books are written by American Authors." Hermione said. Ron still seemed confused so Hermione decided to change her wording. Good books from U.S in Hogwarts."

"But most of them are from London Authors right?" Ron asked. "Why does it matter?" Harry questioned, speaking up for the first time in a while. "Well English Authors would be better concidering that their from London."

"Ron before you say anything else let me just say that their is nothing wrong with America. Remember that at some point they are part of England." Harry said, remembering his muggle Social Studies classes and how English Immigrants went over to America and set up colonies.

"WHAT?! Thats absured! America part of London? Never in a thousand years. Its impossible for they don't have english accents." said Ron, being the clueless Wizard not knowing anything about Muggle History.

"Ron its true-" Hermione started but what cut off my her boyfriend. "Its impossible because they speak American. Not English." Ron said, cprssing his arms with a victory smirk on his face.

Hermione was about to start telling her boyfriend off when Harry stepped in. "Let it go Hermione. Just be happy that you got me reading more and call it a win in your book.

Hermione sighed then nodded. Harry got his book from his friend and was about to start reading.

That is until his mom and dad came into the Common Room. "Hey you three? Doing anything exciting or dangerous that I can bust and or join you?" James asked. Lily chose to just roll her eyes and ignore anything unimportant her husband was saying. She had to do this alot more with Sirius though. "Yah dad were planning how to break into Gringotts." Harry said, closing his book after bookmarking his page.
