A/n: ayeeee wat did u guys think of the last chapterrr? I think it waz meh butttt it'll get better! I think.. idk..

You quickly jumped out of John's lap, struggling a bit since he was holding on so tight. You told him to stay put and he did as told. You pushed the tent flap out of the way and when you saw what was before your eyes, you wanted to cry.

"General Lee!" You shouted. You fell to the ground next to him and held his lifeless hand. He was rude to Washington once or twice, but that was because he thought he wasn't doing the best for his men.

You teared up and Hamilton fell next to you. "I did want this man dead, but after it actually happening," He paused. "I hate myself.." you turned to him. "Do you know, who did this?" You choked out.

He shook his head. "I wish I did. I would bring justice to this person." "Same." You two had a moment of silence from him. While looking at his body, you noticed stab wounds all over him. He was very bloody.

"Love, is everything alright?" Laurens asked from the tent. You looked back with tear stained eyes. His eyes softened, but not by a lot. You walked over to him, hands clasped together. "What's wrong, darling?"

You looked at the floor. "General lee." You mumbled. "He's gone." Laurens's expression changed from worry to neutral. "Oh. I'm sure he's in a better place."

Your gaze flickered up to his. "I-I'm sure your right." You agreed. He wrapped his arms around your waist and had a small smirk plastered on his face. "Of course I am, my dear. I will be here for you. Even if the whole world burns."

You didn't comprehend his 'reassuring words' at the time, but you were sure he was just trying to be a gentleman. "I love you, John." You said, snuggling your face in his chest. "I know hun. I love you too."

"This is a fucking disaster, Monsieur. General Lee is dead, and he never even left the camp!" Lafayette informed. Washington was so very stressed. He had soldiers coming to him left and right trying to figure out how Lee died.

"I understand, Lafayette. Alexander and I think that there may be an assassin amongst us." Lafayette grunted. "Do you have any clue who it might be? We can't let this happen again!"

Washington sighed. "No. But, if you desire, you may have some soldiers scope out tonight and see if any suspicious activity is happening." Laf nodded. "Yes, Monsieur." He then exited the tent.

It was already dusk. Lafayette scrambled to find soldiers to watch the camp for the night. He found a soldier that wasn't a low nor high ranking. "Bonjour, Mr. Henry Smith. May I ask for your assistance?"

Henry was a very gentle man. So gentle, It amazes anyone how he was allowed to join the revolution. Even though he was a bit of an expandable soldier, he was a very jumpy man. It was weird how Lafayette thought a man such as himself would protect the camp, especially at night.

"Of course, Sir!" Henry chirped. He had no idea what he was going to be dragged into. "I need you and two other men to watch the camp for the night. Can you do that for me, Smith?" Henry nodded quickly. He was ecstatic about this. He didn't get much action on the field. He felt this was his opportunity.

"Oh, yes sir! You can count on me!" with that, Henry went and grabbed his two closest friends, James Clements and Richard Ivey. Out of the three, James's job was actually to guard the camp. He watched over the entrance while Richard and Henry patrolled the campgrounds. During their patrol, they split up to cover more ground. Which was a huge mistake.

                                       __________

You fell asleep a while ago in John's arms. He later lied you down on the sleeping bag in the tent, exited it, and zipped it up. He sneaked around some tents and hid behind a tree near the entrance of the camp.

John grasped his knife and pulled it out of his pocket. He examined it and noticed his reflection. A small part of him told him to stop. It told him that these were his colleagues. It begged him to refrain from this. However, that part of him was overpowered by his lust for you and his yearning for you to only be with him and think only about him.

He peaked his head around the tree and saw James standing there. His blood began to boil. From what John recalls, when you were still a low-ranking soldier, you were close friends with this man. You talked to him nonstop and spent most of your time with him.

"I can't let him win her." He whispered to himself and ambushed the man. John held his handkerchief to the man's mouth as he forcefully inserted the blade into his chest. James attempted to yell out for his friends, but John was determined to keep him quiet.

He twisted the knife left and right while it was still in James' chest. "Can't you just imagine it?" John asked him. James was slowly losing consciousness. "One day, (Y/n) and I alone together. The only person that will be at her side will be me. Sure, she will be sad to see you dead. It's a small price to pay for her love~."

He swiftly slid the knife out of his chest and James fell to the ground. John's eyes grew darker by the second. He hid behind the same tree as he waited for Henry to check up on the man. When he did, John quickly did the same as he did for James, only this time he said another thing.

"Mine. She's all mine." John was slowly losing his sanity. Henry fell down next to James's side. John laughed and went off to clean his clothes. After he did, he returned to the tent. You were still on the sleeping bag, shaking a little from the frigid winter. He lied down next to you and wrapped his arms around you. He pulled your face into his chest and your shivering became very rare.

Morning arose and you awoke in John's arms. He looked down at you and kissed your forehead. "Good morning, love. Time to greet the day, for it will be a long one~."
