Your head was banging like the drums you use to hear back in camp. An overwhelming amount of pain surged through your legs. Your eyes started to open and you began to take in your current situation.
Hercules was on the wall to the left of you, and Lafayette was on the wall across from you. The three of you were tied up and you were the only one conscious. You finally looked down at your aching legs and you were astonished. Both of your legs had huge gashes in them. In fact, all three of you had cuts in your legs. It was next to impossible in trying to lift them. Even if you could, the chains on the wall were restraining you from leaving.
Before you could do anything else, The door on the right wall creaked open and John poked his head in. In pure fright, you threw your head down and pretended to sleep. Footsteps were approaching you as tears threatened to escape from your eyes. John leaned down to your level and gave your forehead a little kiss. Your brain was filled with disgust and anger, but your heart still couldn't bring itself to hate him. You hated yourself for that. You hated that you always clung onto a man, even if they've hurt you.
The door closed, signaling that John had finally left the room. While he was only in there for a few seconds, it felt like an eternity to you. You opened your eyes and allowed tears to flow. Gentle weeps left your mouth as you tried to be as quiet as possible. You heard shuffling from the left of the room and you quickly shushed yourself. Your heart pumped faster than any exercise you've ever had. Your eyes adjusted to the darkness and you noticed that the noise was coming from Hercules.
His eyes fluttered open as he grunted in pain. His legs were way bloodier than both yours and Lafayette's combined. Of course, he had bandages on, but not nearly enough. He shifted his vision around. First looking at Laf, then at you. His expression fell to the point where he was going to break into tears. "(Y/n)-" He started, but you quickly shushed him. His volume was too loud, and John surely heard him.
Footsteps stopped emitting when John was in front of the door. He placed his ear on the door, and waited for even the smallest peep to be heard. Alas, he heard nothing, and left from the scene.
"I'm so sorry... I'm sorry this is happening." Hercules quietly chocked out. His tear gently splashing on the floor as he tries to hide his face from your gaze. "I never Imagined this happening. We... We should've just killed him then and there."
"No. It's not your fault." You said, a bit too loud. "This is all my fault... If it wasn't for me, John would probably have not gone on a killing spree. He.. He's completely love sick, and absolutely in the wrong way."
Hercules's eyes widened. "H-How did you know about that?" You looked over at Lafayette. "Because Laf told me... He told me about how John almost killed him for being too close to me." You said, tears seeping though your eyes.
"I should have never left home. I should have listened to my dad." Your volume increased unintentionally. Laf's eye lids slowly opened and a tear dripped off his face. "What.. What did your dad say?" He asked.
You lowered your gaze and answered. "He asked me to marry a man by the name of Thomas Gage. I got to know him, but I soon learned that he was a British officer. I learned that my father was a loyalist. He was trying to marry me off to a loyalist so that they would brainwash me into thinking King George III was our superior. I always believed in America becoming it's own country, but my father forbade it. I did love Thomas Gage, but later down the road, he abused me. He beat me, he yelled at me, and he forced me to have sex with him. I left him. I left my father and Thomas. I had to get away from all of it "
You paused. "And that's when I met General Washington. He was the kindest man I had ever met. He offered me a home. I worked as a maid at his house with his wife Martha Washington. He soon let me work alongside soldiers in the war. He then promoted me. That's when I met you guys. That's when I met John. The man that I thought was kind and sweet. The man I wanted to be with forever. But now..."
You chocked back tears. "Now I just want to end it all. I want to die. I want to leave this place. I'm done with trying to find a nice man. I'm done with wanting a normal life. I just want it to be all over."
"I'm so sorry..." Lafayette uttered. "But, whatever it takes, I promise that I'll get you out of here. And you can quote me on that." A faint smile etched itself onto your face. However, that smile soon faded as a creak was heard at the door.
It was too late to pretend to sleep. He had already caught all of you. "So, who is this 'Thomas Gage? Because if you want, lovely, I'll slaughter him and place his head on Washington's desk."
You grew terrified, but also confused. Gage was a loyalist, and John betrayed the Patriots. Why was he threatening to kill another loyalist? "B-but John... Gage is a loyalist.." John let out a blood curdling laugh. "I don't give a rat's ass about Thomas Gage. My purpose is to serve King George III and have you as my wife~."
John had no intentions on helping the British army. He just needed to wipe out the Patriots so the loyalists could do what they needed to do.
"How could you..." You cried. "How could you go and fuck everyone off just for your own sake!" John made a pouting face. "Just for my own sake? I'm doing this for you. For our future~. I'm going to make you my wife and we will be together forever."
"NO!" You screamed. "I won't stay with you! I won't let you make me your bride! I'd rather die than marry you!" John frowned and looked genuinely hurt. "I understand..." He said. He sounded like how he did when he first met you. He sounded sad...
"Everything I've done has been fucking insane. I can't help it..." His eyes looked sparkly as if he was about to cry. "I'm so sorry..." He started weeping. You let your guard down a bit and decided to comfort him as a way of getting Hercules and Lafayette out. You didn't care what happened to you. As long as Herc and Laf were ok, you were ok.
"I'm sorry, John. But I don't have the same feeling that I had when I met you. You've changed to much." John looked at you and tears poured down his face. You've never seen anyone cry this much. It looked almost unhealthy . "It's ok... I've become a monster. I don't deserve you."
He lifted his arms and untied you. Adrenaline surged through your legs and You jumped up. You ran over and untied Laf while John untied Herc. Hercules ran over to the door and stood there as you and Laf followed him. You stopped to look at John. "I'm sorry, John..."
John's eye began to twitch as the tears stopped pouring from his eyes. "Get out." He stated. "What..?" You questioned. "He'll come back. LEAVE! I DON'T WANT HIM HURTING ANY OF YOU!!!" He yelled. "Please... leave..." He cried.
Your heart sunk and you ran off and followed Herc and Laf. A few seconds after you three left the house you heard a laugh come out of the house. John was completely insane. He was holding on tip the last bit of sanity he had to save you.
The three of you ran faster, thinking he would soon chase you. To you advantage, there was no sight of him. At least, for now.
