Chapter 2:

“You should try out for the cheer squad.” I laugh as I nudge Emily’s arm.

“Pft, I didn’t come here for spot, nor will I be cheering for it.” She defends.

I laugh as the late students finally enter the room. I watch the group of basketball players following behind. They’re all laughing and pushing each other coursing the noise to raise in the room.

The boy with the golden hair walked in, I couldn’t help but observe him again, like when he was practising this morning. A smile lights up his face like it was made for me to stair at. The group of them walk past Emily and I towards the back of the room. I then see the three demands enter, making sure to push up their boobs a little further basically proving that half the bra is stuffed.

The boy with the bright smile walks closer and I felt myself flush. I don’t think I’ve ever been so interested in a boy before. I can’t keep my eyes off of him.

He is now the final player walking by our table. I follow him with my eyes, making sure it isn’t obvious to Emily beside me.

He tilts his head in laughter towards our table. He looks up to catch me looking at him, but I can’t pull away his bright hazel eyes have mine locked.

He gives me a grin, displaying a dimple on his cheek. The heat in my cheeks goes off the radar. I try to pull off a smile but I can feel how stupid I look.

I imminently pull away to look at the desk.

I have just made myself look like a complete foul, if I could slam my face against this desk right now, I would. I would do it so hard.

I feel the slightest tap on my thigh under the table. I turn my head sideway towards Emily as I see movement from the top of our table.

I slowly raise my head to see bright pink nails placed on my desk.

I already know who I’m going to face.

Kate.

“Cassie,” Her annoying high voice breaks my ears.

I raise my eyes to meet her face, like normal covered in a mask of makeup.

“We’ve know each other for a while, yes?” She smiles, although its not welcoming.

“Yes,” I reply. Not as sarcastically as she is coming across.

“Then you know,” She brings her face closer. “When I claim something, it’s mine.”

“Yep” I sign and look away from her.

“Good, glad we got that cleared up.” She smiles.

I’m relieved she’s leaving, I can’t stand her voice and her mocking smile. I don’t see why every guy  is interested in her. She’s a bloody rat. Her fake hair, her fake personality, fake smile, fake boobs, fake tan, fake EVERYTHING.

The two other brats follow behind Kate as she makes her way to the back of the room. Jasmine passes me with a glare. I hate her eyes, they could kill someone if she wanted. Abby followed behind, her thin twig legs thumping along. She casually waves her hand over my side of the desk, tapping my books just enough so they all slam onto the ground.

Great.

My chair screeches on the floor as I stand. I work to the mess Abby made that I have to clean up. I squat down the gather my things and Emily comes along beside me on the ground the help.

“What the hell was that about?” She scoffs as he passes me sheets of paper.

“Nothing.” I answer. Probably tell her will make the matter worse.
