Chapter 9:

“Then dress the dish with herbs and BAM!” Mr Evens opens his arms towards the plate of food he just made.

He is actually a legend of a teacher, he talks to us like we talk to each other, that include the occasional dirty joke.

“So, today you’ll be preparing some delicious homemade pizza’s, like so.” Again he gestures to the plate in front of him. “You’ll be working in paris, for today you may choose, but in later dates I would like to mix up the friendship groups.” He explains as he mental counts everybody.

Liam bumps my elbow, signalling he wants to go with me. Well I think we both kind of have nobody else anyway.

“Get into pair, find a bench and get making!” Mr Evens says with a mouth full of pizza.

“Wanna work near the window?” Liam asks as the class drifts off in every direction.

I look back to find Ashton. He stuck up the back, socialising with the girls. I notice two girls both talking to him, probably fighting for his partnership.

I walk with Liam to the spot he suggested.

“I’ll grab the pizza base, you can pick the ingredients if you want, I like everything.” I smile as we reach the free bench.

“Sure thing, but I’m a meatlovers addict.” He mentions.

“Same here.” I laugh as I walk to the table full of ingredients.

“Cassie, got a partner?” I feel a person behind me, I turn around to see Ashton, now with no girls lacked to him.

“Actually, I kind of assumed you had a partner, so I’m with Liam.” I say.

“Why would you think I’d pick someone over you?” He smiles.

I feel a tingle in my checks, but I imagine that he wouldn't have only said that to me.

“Just the swam of girls around you.” I shrug and turn around to collect the pizza base, worried the Liam would be waiting on me.

“I’m not like that.” Ashton’s smile has fade once I turn back to face him.

I bite my lip and look down, unable to form a correct sentence to reply with.

“Like what Liam said, I’m not that kind of guy.  Liam and I just, don’t see eye to eye.” Ashton says softly.

“I understand.” I reply, smiling slightly.

“Well I’ll have to hunt for a partner, but talk later?” He asks me.

I nod with a smile and make my way back to a waiting Liam.

“Sorry, got caught up.” I say as I put the pizza base down.

“Yeah, Ashton has the effect on girls” Liam mumbles, but I choose to ignore him, they’re both my friends and I don’t want to pick one over the other.

“BBQ sauce or tomato?” I ask.

“BBQ, will best flavour the texture of the meat.” Liam poshly answers.

“Typical aussie meatlovers it is.” I giggle and spread the sauce over the pass.

The bell rings as I pack the final dishes back into their original cabinet.

“Guess I’ll see you next time, Food’s buddy.” Liam smiles as I walk back with him to gather our books.

“By the way,” Liam voice goes steady. “This is wired, and pervy, but…ehh.”
