Chapter 4:

Once I get changed into my basketball gear, I head back to my dorms to drop my books back.

It’s lunch at the moment, so the halls are pretty quiet, most people are at the park or the stadium.

I walk down my hall way and make my way towards my room, turning the key and opening it up.

“What are you doing here?” A snotting aragonite voice welcomes me as I walk in, noticing Jasmine and Abby sitting on her bed.

“I live here.” I mock walking towards my dresser.

“Whatever.” Jasmine answers.

I go about my business dumping my books on my desk and chucking my basketball stuff into my bag.

“Anyway, so she was saying how both Mitch and Jay were fighting over who gets to take her to the game.” Jasmine continues to chat to Abby, “But she is still waiting for Ashton to ask her.”

As I continue to pack my bag, I couldn't help but listen in.

“I wish Jay would ask me.” Abby signs.

“Get over yourself.” Jasmine replies. “I’ve already had Ben ask me.”

“Ben only wants to get in your pants.” Abby mocks.

Surprise Surprise.

“Well at least he thinks I’m good enough to walk him in for his game.” Jasmine boosts.

“If Jay got rejected by Kate, then he still must need a date.” Abby chirps.

Jasmine groans, “I wish Ashton wouldn’t go for Kate and just have me.”

“Kate would cut your throat open, plus, he needs a date to walk him in for the game. So sooner or later he’ll ask her.” Abby tells her.

“Or another girl!” Jasmine laughs and Abby joins in.

I need to exit the room. I chuck my bag over my shoulder and walk towards the door and as I exit through it I couldn't help but hear them continue talking.

“I hear Kate’s going to confront Ashton this afternoon about who his taking,”

I close the door a little to hard and walk straight to the bathroom.

I bust open the girls toilet doors and walk into the community showers, closing the door behind me a fall back onto the stool provided.

Cassie, you don’t even know if you're his date.

You’re just there to watch.

But if Kate finds out.

I can’t. I can’t go with him.

I need to find him before Kate does and get it straight that I can’t go.

I pull myself together before leaving the bathrooms.

I have basketball now, I need to focus on that and not that fact that I may get brutally murdered by Kate.

I open up the locker rooms and place my bag in a slot before heading into the stadium.

It looks much bigger inside then peeping through  door. The floor is so glossy and well finished, I feel like this is a professionals court, and I’m a little kid being in out of bounds.

As I walk to a group of girls dressed in the same gear, I peer over towards the boys on the other side of the court. I notice the blue eyes boy I encounter with In english and then I see the familiar golden hair.
