Chapter 8

It must have felt weird to open something which had been shut for so long. He opened his eyes fully and slowly focused on his surrounding. When his eyes finally came to focus the first thing he saw was a lady in a white gown with olive leaves as her crown. He saw the tears in her eyes but with that he also saw the relief and love in her eyes. He saw the small smile on her face which she tried to cover with her hand. But he didn't feel the way he did when he saw the lady in his dreams. This lady standing in front of him looked a lot like the one in his dreams but was not that woman.

" How do you feel? "

Asked a husky voice from beside him. Endymion turned his face to his side and noticed a man with pale skin, with scratches and cuts all over his face. He had beautiful eyes, the color of the night sky but his eyes showed the sadness that had consumed him.

" I'm good, thank you. "

Endymion answered in a husky voice as it had been years since he had ever talked. He heard a sob and turned his attention to the beautiful lady standing there. She had completely covered her mouth and tears of joy flooded her eyes.

Selene couldn't contain her happiness. She had just found the light at the end of the cave. The light which will bring happiness to her eternal life. After recovering from the shock of watching a miracle she almost ran to her fair Endymion and embraced him. She felt him stiffen but she couldn't care less. She smoothed his hair and said-

" I've waited for this time for so long. And now you've finally woken up. "

" Um... I'm sorry but do I know you? "

Endymion asked his face covered with confusion.

" Oh right. I forgot all the time that I had been there beside you you were asleep. I'm the goddess of the moon. One of the Olympians. My name is Selene. I had been taking care of you and finding ways to wake you up for ages. From the time that you had chosen your destiny my fair man, I was there beside you. "

Endymion smiled at this and thought may be this is the lady he had been dreaming about for so long. He just didn't know her properly and may be after knowing her he would realise his love for her.

" I'm in your debt pale man. I could have never found a wise and helpful man like you in all my eternal life. "

" Its what I do best my sweet Selene. Helping people is what I really like and you have made me believe in who I am. "

The pale man stood with a grateful smile and left the cave. Selene then turned to look at her love. He still seemed to be very confused. He looked around the cave he had been sleeping in for so many years.

Selene heard herself giggle and stopped, her eyes widening when Endymion looked at her with mock anger.

" What do you find so funny, my lady? "

Selene smiled her beautiful smile and answered.

" You look very funny looking around the cave you've been in for so many years. Its just so weird that you didn't know the place you were in for a hundred decades. "

Endymion also cracks a smile and holds her hand. Selene's heart skips a beat at this gesture.

" I'm glad I can entertain you without even meaning to. What I am not glad of is the cave they put me in. I was expecting a much better place than this for my eternal sleep. "

Selene felt giddy and asked-

" Like what? "

" I don't know maybe a palace or probably even a place on mount Olympus. But not something like this. Lord Zeus has a very nice taste in places to sleep. "

Endymion stated sarcastically and heard the beautiful lady giggle. He liked the sound of her giggling and acting like she wasn't a goddess but a Japanese school girl. He wanted to make her laugh and smile. He wanted to become a jester than a shepherd just so that he could make this fair lady laugh.

Selene and Endymion, the two lovers who were healing with time spent the day in the cave trying to recover from all the magic and the time they had lost with each other.

I know I know. Its a very small chapter. There is going to be a lot of love scenes ahead which hopefully you guys might like. I cant wait to write the end though! Love you all!
