They both went hand in hand to mount Olympus. Endymion was ready to tell everything he felt for Hera to her and make her his. Selene didn't know that Endymion was doing all this just because he wanted to talk to the woman of his dreams, his love, who was not her.

They entered the palace together and the gods were in their mortal form. Endymion released a sigh of relief for he didn't want to disintegrate before declaring his love. As soon as they entered the palace Endymion immediately looked at Hera sitting quietly on her throne thinking about something deep.

When she saw Endymion enter she stood up and left the throne room. Endymion furrowed his eyebrows and looked around for her. As Selene and Zeus talked he slipped out of the throne room quietly looking for Hera.

" I know why you are here. "

Came the soft musical voice of Hera. She was standing behind a pillar which was beautifully painted white with green tendrils growing up on it.

" My queen, I know that you are well aware of the fact that I'm in love with you-"

" You are not in love with me Endymion. You are simply attracted. That happens and it will soon vanish. "

Hera cut him. Endymion shook his head vigorously denying the fact.

" I am in love with you my queen and I know that I will never stop loving you. You want me to make you happy and safe. I want to be with you. I feel all kinds of things when I see you. "

" You've only met me twice and we have never even talked to each other before. This is not the way love happens mortal. You don't know anything about love. There is a powerful goddess who loves you and cares about you so much. Yet you are here wanting more. Don't let your greed guide you and make you loose what you already have."

Hera pointed out but Endymion was adamant.

" But I love you. I do care for Selene a lot but I don't love her. And it hurts me to think that I am hurting her but I cannot deny that I am in love with you and only you my queen. I have been dreaming about you for decades. And now I have finally found you. "

" You haven't been dreaming about me. I was visiting you just to make sure that my child down there was alright for you've been asleep for far too long. I care for you but not in the way you think Endymion. It can never happen. "

Hera turned and left. Endymion tried to stop her but before he could she ran away.

Endymion felt defeated and slumped his shoulders as he turned around. He was going to start walking towards the throne room when he saw someone. He looked up to see the moon goddess in her mightiest and angriest form. Selene was taller than her normal mortal form and there was a slight glow around her. Although she was not in her real form she was already showing how powerful she was. Endymion's face turned pale when he saw that and realised that she had listened to the full conversation. He took a step back in fear. He didn't try to justify his action as he wasn't able to. There was no legit reason to justify him cheating on her. He was simply being greedy.

Selene took a step forward trying to control her power. She didn't want to kill Endymion but she was trying very hard to keep her real form within.

" Why? "

She seethed trying to hide the hurt and the pain of betrayal. Right now she was fuming with anger because she had spent a hundred decades trying to wake this mortal and fall in love with her but he used her to get to Hera. Selene could feel the familiar tingling feeling in her fingers where she felt the power of the moon. All this power combined with hurt and pain was directed towards Endymion who simply stood there frightened. He was in Olympus with an angry goddess who had cornered him. But he knew he deserved this. He didn't blame Selene for getting angry.

" Tell me why! "

Selene's voice boomed in the empty hall.

" There is not justification of how I acted. You are right to be angry at me. "

Endymion said with his head down. When Selene didn't say anything he continued.

" Selene, goddess I was not aiming to hurt or anger you in anyway. I actually do care about you a lot, I love to make you laugh and I want to make you feel safe with me but I don't love you. I respect you and you are dear to me but the queen is the one I have been dreaming about all this time. She came in my dreams everyday and I couldn't stop but feel something more for her. I'm sorry my lady. "

" Don't call me that! I've had enough of you! "

She boomed and left him there standing in shame. When she entered the throne room to leave Zeus pounced on the opportunity.

" Sweet Selene I told you never to trust a mortal. He never deserved you-"

" Don't! My lord, I do not want to make things messy. "

She said and left without another glance at the place she called home. All this while the other gods and goddess looked at the three beings with an amused smile for this was quite entertaining for them.

Selene went away. She used her powers and went to a heighted place among the mortals. She sat on the tree of a tall tree on the top of a big hill. She then let loose the emotions that were locked in her for some time. She let the tears come down. She let herself cry as much as she could. She couldn't believe that the mortal she had loved for so long had done this to her. She was the one who cared for him for so many decades and found ways to wake him up only for him to go and fall in love with Hera.

What had she done wrong in her life that she was being punished like this? What has the fates in store for her?

Selene couldn't help but ponder on the fact that she was feeling so hurt and weak because of a mortal. She was feeling all this pain because of a mere mortal. The thought wounded her ego more and she couldn't help but feel angry and sorry for herself. She looked down from the tree onto the forest to see a pack of wolves running together.

All of them were there for each other. While she sat on the tree alone she didn't have anybody who cared for her but these wolves went everywhere with each other. They never left their comrades' sides. There was always someone they could look to find comfort.
