That's when Selene thought of an idea. She thought of making a new species of wolves who had all the features of a wolf and they were always there for each other. The only difference being that these wolves will be more powerful and strong as these creatures were meant to hunt with the goddess herself. They will be humans who are transformed into a better species. They will have a true mate who will love them no matter what. And she will choose these partners. She will see to it that the pull between them is so much that they can never be away from each other. They cannot cheat on each other the way Endymion did with her.
Selene herself though vowed to never love or be with a man again. She herself would remain single forever as she could not risk feeling the things she did now and feel so weak. She didn't want anything to make her weak and make her feel so much pain. Nobody would have any control over her in any way. She decided to make these species known as werewolves first and then from among them she will choose her hunters. The ones who are willing to sacrifice having a mate will only hunt with her and protect her for she was the undefeatable goddess of the moon.
While Selene was making herself better and stronger for the future, the handsome shepherd, Endymion lived a normal mortal life and died. But all through his life he never loved again for his heart belong to only one person who was way beyond his league. He would think about the lady he spent a lot of his time with and the lady who took care of him. He missed Selene but he knew he will never have a chance with her cause he didn't love her and she would not want him anymore. He could already imagine her disintegrating him the moment her eyes land on him. He heard stories about Selene as the goddess of a new species and having vowed to never fall in love with any man and he only laughed to himself when he heard this. He was the only mortal who really knew her and he knew she wouldn't punish herself for long. And maybe he was right, maybe not.
