Lexington

We climb out of what's left of the trailer and continue down the road. We enter the outskirts of a decent sized city. My pip-boy informed us that we have just discovered Lexington. The city seems deserted, but I'm still on guard. Piper starts to move forward, just as I happen to glance at the ground. I throw my arm up and stop her.

I crouch down and move slowly and cautiously over to a flashing light. My thoughts were correct as I get close enough. Land mines. Four of them. I get to work, disarming them. A, painstakingly, long process that kept me on edge. But I successfully disarm the mines and add them to our stash.

We move further into the city, keeping an eye out for more mines. So far we have haven't seen any signs of hostiles, or any signs of life for that matter. We make it to a police station, which is bored up, but Piper and I have no problem getting inside through an opening in one of the windows. We hit an ammunition jackpot, this police station was completely untouched by civilization.

We went through the building looting and collecting everything we could. We also picked up a few more missiles from the evidence lockup. I make my way back to the window and I notice a couple odd looking people stumbling around outside.

I drop the VATS recticle and identify the creatures. Feral ghouls run across the recticle. I look over at piper, who nods, acknowledging their presence.

"Well, I guess you could say that the wasteland is literally trying to kill us." I whisper, looking around. "Let's get to the roof and put the things out of their misery."

Piper nods and we make our way to the roof, I set a mine up on the fire escape and move back over to Piper. She already has two identified, but a few more are stumbling in. Looking around, I manage to count at least seven. I ready my sniper rifle and begin firing. I drop three of the ghouls before they even realize what's going on. These things seem pretty stupid. But just then, one begins glowing.

"Well, that can't be good. Not at all." Piper says, aiming for it's leg.

I check the VATS recticle, which identifies the creature as The Glowing One.

"Well fuck. Just aim for the head and don't stop firing until it's dead." I said, flipping the receiver to semi-automatic.

Piper and I open fire, dropping the regular ghouls. Quickly reloading our rifles, we turn our attention to The Glowing One. I empty my magazine into the things skull but it still stands. Piper empties her magazine into the damn thing, still doesn't kill it.

"Fuck. This thing must have a weakness. Wait a minute." I say, getting frustrated.

I turn to my dufflebag and pull the missile launcher out and load it up. I then take aim at the ghoul and fire. The missile flies forward, slamming it straight in the chest. The damage? Let's put it this way, the ground is now covered in glowing pools of blood.
