INTO THE WASTELAND... AGAIN!

THE WALL

As we leave the vault area, the rain is starting to come down harder. I load up my shotgun and make sure Nora is well equipped, before we venture any further. We get about twelve meters away from the vault entrance before something catches Nora's attention. Two heavily mutated hounds stumble out into our path. One snarls at us and the other wastes no time running at us.

"Shit!" I yelled, jumping in front of the hounds.

I raise my gun at them and pull both triggers, the one goes down momentarily, but then gets back up. I reload the shotgun as quickly as I can. Within seconds, the hounds have closed the distance gap between us. My training kicks in, and I immediately holster the gun.

I side-step one of the hounds, grabbing it by the throat and immediately snapping its neck, I then, quickly, hurl it at the other one. The hound narrowly avoided it's partner, turning it's attention to me. A shot rings out in the distance, and the hounds skull splatters into a million pieces.

The brains and other bodily fluids splatter over me and Nora. We are then greeted by two women, one in her late twenties, early thirties. The other, no older than fifteen.

"That was a hell of a shot Nat, remind me to stay out of your way." The older woman said, taking the rifle.

I look up from the hound and I can't believe what I'm hearing.

"Excuse me, did you say she was the one who shot this beast?" Nora asked wiping the blood and brain matter off her suit.

"I did, I'm Piper, by the way. And this is my sister Nat." The woman replied, slinging the rifle over her shoulder. "We've been tracking these two for a couple hours now. They managed to find their way into Diamond City and killed a couple of our townfolk."

"My name is Lucien, and this is Nora." I respond, checking the surrounding area. "Would you mind if you took us with you back to Diamond City?"

"Not at all, come on, there's a radiation storm rolling in, don't want to get caught out in that." Nat speaks, before Piper could get the words out.

Nora and I pick up our gear and follow the girls back to Diamond City. Along the way, they explain to us the hazards and creatures of the wasteland. I take this time to familiarize myself with the pip-boy. According to the stats, this thing is like something straight out of a science fiction movie.

As displayed on the screen, it shows, based on star levels, my strength is 8, my perception is 7, my endurance is 9, my charisma is 10, my intelligence is 9, my agility is 7, and my luck is 6. However, Nora's numbers show that she stands only at half of my stats.

Within about an hour, we reach the Great Wall of Diamond City. The guards let us in, however they seem to be keeping a close eye on Piper and her sister.
