At this point, as I was oblivious to the rest of the house, I am immediately snapped back to reality by the sound of Shaun crying in the other room. Then it hit me, I forgot to turn the mobile on. Moments later Codsworth comes in and informs me that little Shaun is needing my paternal expertise. I go back and see what's bothering him. To my surprise, Shaun is standing in his crib.
"Honey, come look at this." I say, calling for Nora.
She comes in and almost faints with excitement. Shaun is now bouncing up and down in his crib and his giggles activate the mobile, which was recently turned on. He sits down and stares up at it just awe-stricken.
"Sir, Mum, you might want to come look at this!!" Codsworth called out, from the living room.
"Codsworth, what's wrong!?" Nora exclaimed.
Nora and I run out to the living room, but not before Nora scoops up little Shaun.
"Codsworth, what's with all the big commotion?" I asked skidding to a halt as the TV blares the emergency broadcast sirens.
"We have confirmed reports... I repeat confirmed reports, of ... Nuclear detonations over New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Everyone, I repeat, everyone is advised to get to their bunkers, shelters and the like." The TV blares.
Suddenly, the once quiet streets of Sanctuary, have now erupted into panic and chaos. I grab my badge and gear and pick up Nora into my arms, as she holds little Shaun, I race out the door and follow everyone else. As I'm running people are fleeing their houses and making their way to thevault. Meanwhile, all around me, military officials are directing us towards the vault.
I set Nora down as I approach the entry gate and show my badge.
"General Lucien, I didn't know you lived in Sanctuary. Please sir, you don't want to enter that vault." The private informed me.
"What are you talking about, Private?" I asked.
The private informed me what was going on and offered to take us to one of the other vault by means of one of the Vertibirds.
"We have cryostasis technology that will allow you to sleep through this catastrophe 'til your given time." The private says quickly.
I agree and pick Nora and Shaun up again and head over to the Vertibird.
"Where is it you'll be taking us?" Nora asked, concern filling her voice.
"Don't worry we're taking you to the cryostasis pods deep beneath what we call the diamond of Boston." The pilot replied.
"Diamond City, Lucien they're taking us to Diamond City!" Nora exclaimed, concern turning to relief.
"Diamond City, haven't been back there in a while." I mumbled, silently.
