INTO THE WASTELAND... AGAIN!

Lexington Raiders

Piper and I finish scavenging the police station, we head back out into the streets. We search the remnants of the ghouls, taking anything that would be useful to us. Piper, however, seems to be very quiet after the fight, and its starting to concern me. I keep a close eye on her as we make our way down the empty streets. Eventually we make it to an intersection, with the direction signs shot to hell we can't tell which way is which. Piper finally speaks up and asks me to check the Pip-Boy. I, excited to her voice once again, check the Pip-Boy without hesitation. we are currently next to the Lexington apartment buildings, according to the mini-map on my Pip-boy.

"What do you think, Piper? Should we take a second to check out the apartments, or should we head on our merry way?" I asked, scanning the windows of the apartments for any signs of movement.

"Honestly, Fang, with it hitting closing to night fall, don't you think we should stop here for the night and continue on in the morning, there are things that are better hunters at night out here, and honestly i don't want to be eaten." Piper responds, looking at the apartment building.

Just then, I hear footsteps coming from the alleyway and I immediately grab my combat rifle. Piper and I take cover behind an unusable car, and try to see who our guests are. Four men and two women come in to the light of the moon. They're clad in leather and metal armor, one has a cage covering his head. I look over at Piper, and give her a wink. I take a couple plasma grenades we picked up from the police station, and lob them over the top of the car. The men seem to be distracted by the object, its only too late before they realize what it is. The grenade explodes, taking out two of the men, and crippling Cage-Head's leg. They switch to defensive stances and start searching the area. I, then get the idea of pissing them off even more.

"Hey, how do you feel about fireworks?" I ask, whispering to Piper.

"I love fireworks. What did you have in mind?" Piper asked.

I took a couple mines from my bag and rigged them up to the car. We then took a couple stealth boys from the bag, and activated them. which rendered us invisible. We then quietly moved away from the car, setting up a noise-maker before we left. The noise-maker goes off, drawing the peoples attention. I take out my silenced pistol, and take aim at one of the mines. I fire, exploding one of the mines, which in a chain reaction, explodes the second mine, followed by the car, killing all but one. The last one, one of the females, is so confused and thanks to the cover of the night, isn't able to find us. She lays down her weapon, sits down, and then does something that completely surprises Piper and myself. She begins to cry.

Keeping our weapons ready, we approach the lady. She notices us, but she doesn't go for her weapon. she just continues to weep.

"Miss? Um... Fang, it's not normal for a Raider to just give up this easily. Don't let your guard down. Miss?" Piper speaks up, keeping her weapon trained on the raider. I keep my eye on the woman as we approach closer. 

"Ma'am?, Are you ok?" I ask, keeping my pistol ready.

"You... Yeah... I'm fine, now. If it weren't for you two, I'd be dead. Long story short, I've been trying to find a way to escape from these assholes, My names Jennifer by the way." The woman replies, then going into explicit detail of how she was a slaver to these raiders.

"Well you're more than welcome to join us, we could always use an extra set of eyes on the field. And this way, you can enact your revenge on the raiders." I say, extending my hand to help her up.

"You mean it, Really mean it?" Jennifer asks, taking my hand.

"I do, this war has taken the life of my wife, and my son is missing. I intend to get my revenge, and i need all the help i can get." I respond, Helping her to her feet.
