"Okay guys, today, we have ECM day!" Gramps said as he entered the room with a large grin on his face. The students cheered. I was wondering why he had never said this last week since we were meant to get a notice a week before, but, hey? ECM day is like no lessons but replaced with fun lessons, like robotics with prizes like Maltesers.

"We're in room C61 for a course of DNA and blood, then the same room for study skills, then everyone's favourite, robotics!" Practically everyone cheered at the news. I cheered as well at the fact that we will get to get sweets. Yeah, I'm addicted to chocolate and stuff like that. I got a sweet tooth! "So, let me take the register so I don't have to panic if there's a fire alarm today..." Gramps mumbled. Same excuses for health and safety.

"Let's hope we're in the same group, I don't want to get used!" Levy mumbled. Wow, the famous last words before we get separated.

"You jinxed it, but, so do I!" I giggled as the bell rang for us to go. I could feel the presence of our form tutor just following us. That and him yelling at Gray to stop kicking the God damn wall.

I opened the door to the room and could see a teacher with hair like Gajeel's and similar eyes, but very pale in comparison to my friend. He also had a mixture of Natsu's eyes and Gray's sense of styling under his lab coat. Wow, is this man trying to fool me or something?

I quickly sat in a seat and the table crowded with other students, one of them being Natsu. Of course, he was so close to me. I decided to let him off this once because it was his first ECM day in this school. Levy got dragged by Gajeel to a separate table with Gray as my table was full. I looked around my table to see Natsu, Mira, Romeo. Let's just say the younger moved up to our form for being a genius!

"Okay! Who knows what genes are? And not the clothes, you clever people! The one in DNA!" The teacher asked us after clapping his hand once. The class snickered at his extra detail as they thought. God, this is giving me a headache.

"It's the part of DNA that codes for proteins," I said, remembering the vague memories of our fist Science Biology lesson. It was fun.

"Right! Does anyone know what had happened to this mouse?" He asked after my simple explanation. The presentation on the interactive white board changed to a little horrifying image of a mouse. Right now, I would be licking my lips for the meat, but this was sad. Too sad.

"It has an ear sticking out of its back..." Jellal yelled from his table through the whispers of shock. It wasn't our first time seeing it but it was still horrifying to look at.

"Right, anyone know how it happened?" I read his name plate, Mard Geer. Mr. Geer? I guess we'll call him sir since he forgot to mention what to call him. They usually they will let us call the visitors by their first names but...?

"They changed its DNA," Levy said in the confusion. Sir seemed to get the idea of looking at it was uncomfortable and just changed the slide to a liger.

"This is a hybrid of a tiger and a lion through DNA. We can do this with any species within the specific boundaries. Not humans and extinct animals are out of question," He said. What would happen to a newly born child between species? Born a freak and an outcast like in Inuyasha. I guess I won't ever see one but it would be great to try and cheer someone up.

It was only 20 minutes until we moved onto the next half of the lesson. We were shown images of species and told to go through a boring worksheet individually, now for the teamwork! Yay! Sense the sarcasm?

"The school had phones each of your parents to try and get blood tests! The people not getting it is Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel, and Jellal Fernandez!" Mard Geer said as he assured us to another table for us to just watch.

I looked at Jellal and Natsu nervously. Remember how my new housemate is a vampire? Yeah, and Natsu might as well get triggered by the blood to murder someone. And I, I don't even know myself. I don't even know who I should be worried about most. How did I not see this coming earlier? Damn it...

Mard Geer got our a pen-like device and stuck it onto Levy's index finger, letting the blood seep into the reader. The tension between us had gotten heavier only 5 minutes into it. The iron I could smell was intoxicating and made my eyelids go heavy. Every now and again, my vision would change to grey and my hands would twitch, threatening that my veins would go black on me.

I looked at Natsu on my left and he had somehow on the way knocked himself out on my lap. I looked at his hair and swirled it around a bit. I could feel the hair gel becoming sticky on her fingertips. But, it had a soft texture to it and sticky, though, definitely sticky. I had thought it would feel like that when the wind would make his hair move so effortlessly and when he moved, it didn't stay in place very much.

"Jellal, what on earth are you doing?" Gramps asked. I rapidly turned my heads to see Jellal raising from his seat. His face had gone pale and his head was at a slight angle. His eyes were blazing with hunger and screaming to kill anyone in his way.

"What do you mean, sir~~? I'm just going to try and help the patients~~" Jellal slurred out. Had he got himself drunk from the scent? His eyes darted towards Levy and the others, running ther finger under water. "Don't wash it of, red is everyone's color, red is my favourite, I tell you. It reminds me of blood, do you like blood? Of course you do, it keeps you alive. But I like it when you are bone dry inside, letting my suck the blood out of you~~"
