"What did you do exactly?" I asked him. Levy brought him over to sit next to me to calm down. His breath shook at my question and his heart sped up from guilt or embarrassment.
"I took her to your garden," He began. Natsu passes him a glass of Miranda to drink to cheer him up. "A-and I talked her, I got caught up in the mo-ment and..."
"Don't tell me you slapped her, Gray!" Erza scolded him. His face went pale at what Erza had said. His heart rate didn't change, it wasn't that he slapped her, that was what I could tell.
"I kissed her..." He breathed out. His face wasn't red from what he had done, it looked like he had made the biggest mistake of my life. "She started to look uncomfortable during it so I stopped and she cried! She wrote on her whiteboard that 'this wasn't how it was meant to be! It's my fault for acting like a God when I was nowhere near that level'..."
I looked at Jellal and he looked at Natsu. I guessed that Natsu must have also known what had happened to her state and wanted to help. "Jellal, Natsu, and I will talk to her, we understand what she's feeling," I said to him.
"I'll go." Erza offered. She was trying to be a good friend, but would she be able to understand how we do? The feeling of not being accepted as who we are. I doubt it, not on the same level as us. And I don't want to claim anything on Juvia's feeling but we could talk.
We could talk.
"No, I can talk to her on an emotional level, don't worry." I patted her shoulder and left her in the living room. I heard her sit back down on the coach with Gajeel to talk it out with Gray. "He said he didn't recognise the room..."
"It must be mine, he never went in it, has he?" Jellal came up with as we walked up the stairs. The scent was salty tears filled up the corridor and it was an emotional heavy mess in here, even if it was nowhere near her.
I knocked on the door and opened it softly with the two boys behind me. Juvia sat on Jellal's bed and was balled up. Her hair fell over her shoulders and her back was arched down in a painful way. Her side leant up against the wall on her right. Her shaking filled up the air and she tried to calm down as she heard our footsteps enter the room.
Everything in the room was cold and nothing was moving. The only sounds to be heard were us moving towards here. She didn't look up to see us and I didn't think she would.
"We heard what happened, Juvia talk to me..." I said as I leaned onto her left side. Gray was right. I could feel that her shaking was her breathing but even a breath should make a sound.
Nothing came out.
I picked up the whiteboard and passed it to her, hoping that she would take it. I could feel the bed move under the pressure of Jellal and Natsu sitting down. Her pale hands wet with tears slowly picked up the board and marker before her.
'You won't understand, we're not alike...'
"We do understand Juvia. We're more alike than you think." Natsu said to her. His voice was soothing to the ear and was no longer letting out anger like a while ago. He was trying to cheer her up.
'No we're not! If I told you who or what I am yo--you'd call me a freak! You'd call someone to take me and everything! I never wanted this!'
"Juvia, we know what you are isn't human, we found out ages ago..." Jellal said to her and moved closer. I stopped leaning on her and let her sit up straight and stretch her legs out on the bed. The covers were cold under my weight and it was different feeling in this room than it usually was.
'Why haven't you said anything then?'
"We're also not human, haven't you found out yet?" I said to her and pulled up my sleeves. I took out a pin from my hair and pricked myself. A bubble of blood appeared out of my wrist and Jellal looked the other way to calm himself down from the scent. Even if he didn't like werewolf blood.
Blood is blood.
My blood was a dark colour, black. My index finge brushed it off and I grabbed the glass of water on the night stand next to me to wash it. Her eyes didn't change. She was in shock but her face didn't show it.
"Tell me the truth, why can't you speak?" I asked her. She wiped away her tears before writing on her board again. The room was filled with the sounds of sqeaking and our breathing. It was soothing and no longer heavy in this room.
'I don't like my body. I got mad at my mum about how I treated Gray and she hit me. She took my powers away, most importantly, the power of speech. She gave it to a man with black hair and I wasn't able to do anything about it, she's my mother.'
"We'll be your voice for the time you don't have one." I said to her. The shaking at stopped the moment my right hand rubbed circles on her back.
"And, we'll help you get it back." Natsu said to her. She was smiling again. Even if this girl didn't have a voice no longer, we'll make her happy. If she didn't like her body and what she was, we'll make her love herself.
We'll make her everything she acted she was.
