My eyes fluttered open to reveal darkness, it was pitch black. I sat on what felt like hay.

"Hello?" I called. No reply. I reached to my pocket and found my phone I flicked the keypad of my blackberry open. It was 3:30pm half an hour after I had been walking home from school. I checked my other pocket and found I still had my keys. Getting a torch app open on my phone I found I was in a barn in my small town in Texas. I grabbed my rucksack and threw it over my shoulder. Automaticly I pulled my hair out of the strap. But instead of the knee length, silky, golden hair there was shoulder length, straw tangled, golden hair. I grabbed the brush and mirror I kept in my bag for emergencies. I let out a scream, a pig squeeled and ran away. It was gone my lush hair was gone. Though I did think the shoulder length hair suited me. I went to the barn door and stepped out into the sunlight I was in a familiar place so I bolted home. "MUM!" I shouted.

"My darling zella." Mum ran over to me. "What happened to your hair!" She almost fainted. I broke down into big, soppy tears.

"I... was... walk... home... school... black...barn...hair gone... phone... mirror... waaaaah!" I slumped in her arms. Mum made me some hot coco and called the police. My best friend Lillie came into my house with her dad the paramedic. She ran over to me and hugged me. "Thank you so much for coming. Why is your dad here?" I didn't think I was hurt.

"To check for sign's of memory loss." She gasped at my hair and my mum pulled her back and gave her some hot coco. Her dad stuck a torch in my eye. There opened them wide.

"What happened 'ere then?" The officer said.

"I was walking home from school and boom everything was dark. I woke up with my hair missing in the local barn." I calmed down now knowing I was safe.  The police soon caught my kidnapper and I got my hair back. I couldn't do much with it so I sent it to charity for cancer kids. The company made my hair into wigs and little boys and girls could enjoy having hair again. I got alot of comments but I learnt to live with it and Lillie always had my back. I guess you could call me the 21st century Rapunzel.
