Plans

You might not know who you're going to marry, what kind of career is perfect for you, or where you might be living in ten years, but know this: it will be where you need to be. It won't seem like it now, but that doesn't mean it's not true.

That's what trusting in God is all about. We don't know what's ahead, but that doesn't mean nothing is ahead. Just because the present or the past has had its dim moments, that doesn't mean that the future won't be bright. And the reason why, is because God has a plan and purpose for your life and it's far better than anything you could come up with on your own.

Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. - Proverbs 19:21

It's okay to dream and make plans for your life, but with any new plan or dream, make it a point to go to God first about it!

The moment you write it in your journal, write it in your prayer journal too. The moment you tell a friend what kind of husband you want or where you see yourself in 5 years, ask them to hold you accountable to actively seeking God about this in every step.

It's not wrong to have desires, and to talk about and dream about them, but always remember that whatever happens is apart of a bigger plan that God has in your life.

And here's even more good news: if you are a follower of Christ, you have the Holy Spirit to guide you. If you're stuck between two choices or life decisions, don't just say a quick prayer and move on to the next thing and hope it sorts itself out. Pray and ask for the Holy Spirit, who is God's Spirit, to lead you where you need to be. Open up your Bible and read more than ever before. Ask for the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what it is you need to know.

Remember, it's "The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans." - Romans 8:26

This applies to every aspect of our lives. Including our plans. Don't go through this life without guidance. Don't plan a future that isn't led by the Lord! He knows all, He sees all, and He will always be the One to equip you for the days ahead.
