Then Peter began to speak: ‘I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.’ - Acts 10:34-35
⠀
Favoritism is everywhere you look. It’s in our jobs, at our schools, in our families, and in our communities. Whether you’ve been one of the ones who has been shown favoritism or you're one of the ones who has been left out, it is practically impossible to escape it in a human sense; however, God does not show favoritism at all. God doesn’t look at any one of His children as more valuable than another. God shows His favor to us in different ways, and while it may seem like someone at your church or in your family has been blessed more than you, that is never the case.
⠀
Perhaps you’re apart of a group of friends who have all been praying for husbands, and slowly but surely, it seems like everyone is meeting “the one,” except for you. You might start to feel like God is punishing you since He has given all of your friends what they prayed for and not you. At first glance, you might feel like you’re the one lacking, but in Christ, you lack nothing. You are not any less important because you have yet to meet your future husband!
⠀
The same applies when it comes to educational and career accomplishments. The girl who got the internship or the job before you did is not more favored by God than you. The woman who got the promotion or the woman who already has a successful business of her own is not loved by God any more than you are. God loves you intimately, uniquely, and He accepts each of individually. The enemy wants you to think that God favors some of His children more than others because that's what causes you to drift away from God.
⠀
Don't let the enemy win. Don't let your insecurities or impatience win. God has not forgotten you and someone else's answered prayer does not take away from anything that God is doing any our life.
