"Want me to put these in the toaster?" Zack asked as his arms flailed holding Eggo waffles.

"Duh dummy!" Averie chuckled.

He placed the waffles in the toaster and pressed down the tab. He jumped jerking his hand away from the toaster.

"Gosh that scared me!" Zack hesitated while laughing loudly.

"You're so weird," Averie chuckled.

"You're laugh is weird," Zack squinted his brows trying to make a funny expression.

*GA-CHUNK*

"I got it!" We both yelled loudly as we stomped to the toaster.

Averie pushed Zach's shoulder and she passed him.

"Haha! I made it first!" Averie carefully picked the waffle out of the toaster and chomped on it playfully.

"Hey! Leave me the other one!" Zack chuckled.

"I will save it for you craz-" Averie was cut off to the sound of a fast knock on the door.

"Pizza guy?" Zack asked jokingly.

"No, I didn't order pizza," Averie walked up to the door.

Her eye met the peephole and gazed in to the eyes of a random girl. She was beautiful though.

"Who is it?" Zack yelled holding in laugh.

"Some girl, she is beautiful," Averie whispered loudly as she signaled Zack to look.

His eyes gazed through the peep hole.

"I've seen better, but she is okay," Zack stated.

*Knock-knock-knock*

Zack opened the door quickly and looked the girl up and down. He lifted his eyebrows and made a surprised expression.

"Uh, hi," the girl giggled nervously.

"Hey, you want in?" Zack asked trying to impress her.

Averie elbowed him in his arm unnoticeably and smiled at him oddly.

"I had a few offers to make, but sure I'll stop in for a little," she smiled and nodded as she walked in inspecting the room.

"Like the place huh?" Averie asked with a proud tone.

"Yes very, um, stylish," she sat down on a small blue couch and sat a little velvet journal on the coffee table.

"What's that?" Zack asked nosily to the girl.

"Just my art book, wanna see some drawings I've been working on, maybe?" She grabbed her journal excitedly.

"Sure," Zack sat next the the girl.

She opened to the first page. A beautiful drawing of an elegant girl with long, auburn hair and green eyes was sketched, complementing the paper. The name "Maddie" was etched in beautiful cursive.

"Wow, you must really have talent, that drawing looks like you," he grabbed the journal and held it up to her face, his eyes dashing back and forth from her face to the paper.

"Thanks, I challenged myself to a self portrait," she smiled courageously and shut her journal.

"Anyone want drinks?" Averie asked and opened the cabinet filled with cups.

"What kind?" Zack said in curiosity.

"Milk, juice, water, anything from those ," Averie left the cabinet open and opened the fridge to show the options.

"I'll pass," Zack and the girl both said at the same time.

"Hey, about your drawing, it said Maddie on it, is that your name?" Zack asked excitedly.

"Yeah, it is!"

"Zack I'm gonna have to leave in a bit for my book club meet at Hailey's place," Averie sat on a chair next to the island in the kitchen.

"Alright, do I need to get ready to leave?" Zack asked standing up from the couch.

"Yeah, both of you do."

"Hey can I get your number, Maddie?" Zack asked.

"Sure, I'll put in in your phone for you," she smiled.

"Okay, just wanted it to you know, like hangout sometime or just talk about art, pencils whatever," he blushed and looked down at his hands after he handed her his phone with a new contact file open.

Maddie mumbled numbers to herself as she typed in her number.

"There you go."

"Thanks," Zack grabbed his phone.

"You're welcome, call me around 4:00," she grinned and grabbed her journal.

"Sure," Zack opened the door waiting for her to walk out in front of him.
