The sound of doors slamming woke me up, then I heard faint voices muffled by the living room television.
"You don't need her," a voice whispered, causing me to move closer to the closed door.
"Who are you to tell me what I need?" Harry scoffed. "Please leave."
"You don't need a girlfriend to make you emotional and weak, focus on music," the voice shot back, I assume it was Courtney. "I can be what you need, Harry."
Not wanting to hear anything more, I opened the door to make sure my presence was known.
"I'll be leaving now," Courtney shot a playful wink, Harry looked absolutely livid.
His breath hitched, "How much did you hear?"
"More than I wanted to hear.." I sighed.
"Don't worry about her," he paused. "Put some clothes on, meet me outside."
I put on my clothes from the previous night, but adding one of Harry's beanies and a black scarf. I made my way out into the inches of snow to find Harry struggling to keep his balance.
"Do you want to build a snowman?" I hummed.
"Oh God no, please don't!!" his eyes widened in horror while attempting to cover my mouth.
"I had to," I chuckled while moving his hand. "Do you want to build one or not?"
"I have our flight booked," he said while slowly pushing the clump of snow across the lawn.
"When?" I asked while doing the same.
"Tomorrow morning, take off is at five."
"Oh, wow, I need to pack." I mumbled while picking up the clump of snow to place it on his.
"This snowman is already a failure," he chuckled at the out of proportion snowman. "I'll drop you off at your place, yeah?"
We arrived at my apartment around three, I had a lot to do. I pulled out my suitcase and packed the basics. In the middle of packing there was a loud pounding on my door, so I got up to see who would be up at this hour, the clock just hit midnight.
I opened the door to find an unstable Harry, as soon as our eyes locked he pushed me against the wall.
"I need you," he murmured before crashing his lips onto mine.
I ran my hands down his long torso, feeling every bump of his defined muscles. Once both of our shirts were removed, I looked up to his lustful, green eyes. There was no turning back now.
He slightly nipped at my neck while carrying me to the back room, "Even your bedroom is plain as shit."
His comment made me laugh lightly, but all laughs were forgotten. He was impatient to tear off any clothing item in his sight, his eyebrows creased from stress. Like I said, there was no turning back now.
__________
My alarm went off after the few moments of sleep we both had, causing Harry to let out a frustrated groan. I got up and freshened up in my bathroom, also packing last minute necessities. I dragged out my bags to the taxi waiting outside. Harry helped me load the trunk, to be honest I was afraid to look at him.
I saw a very vulnerable part of him last night, I don't think I would ever forget the image of tears rolling down his cheeks.
We soon boarded the plane, the flight would estimate around seven hours. Harry and I were seated together, no third person.
"Are you okay?" I spoke up as the plane started to take off.
"No," he stated simply. "Just because we had sex doesn't mean I'm going to open up to you."
"That's mean.." I muttered.
"Well I'm not a nice guy," he sighed. "Now you know."
__________
We had only exchanged a few words the whole flight. We were currently in a rental car, going to his mom's. I was getting more and more nervous the closer we got, especially since we weren't really on talking terms. We soon arrived in front of a little house, with the most gorgeous garden placed in the front lawn.
We silently got out of the car, bags in hand and walked up to the door.
"Harold!" a beautiful brunette squealed, she appeared to be his mother.
"Hey," he smiled while pulling her into a hug.
Another brunette appeared and joined the hug, all three of them had the same dimples.
"This is Ellen," he said. "Ellen this is my mum and sister."
"Call me Anne," she smiled even wider while pulling me into the group hug.
"I'm Gemma," the short brunette squeaked.
Harry grabbed both of our bags and showed me to his old room. Posters littered the white walls, along with the tattered white carpet.
"I'm gonna go and see some old friends," he pressed his lips on my forehead. "I'll be back."
I let out a frustrated sigh before Gemma knocked on the door, "Will you go to the bar with me?"
"Why not?" I smiled while grabbing my bag.
"How long have you and Hazz been together?" Gemma asked while cranking up the car.
"Not very long," my brows furrowed.
"Our mum is thrilled he brought a girl to meet her," she chuckled while pulling into the lot. "You seem nice though."
"I can be," I joked while entering the small bar, only about three or four cars were parked outside.
"Get us some shots, Bea." Gemma ordered while sitting us in the corner.
"Why did Harry move to New York?" I questioned.
"He wanted to pursue his music career, but the gigs are the same to me." Gemma shrugged while downing the first shot.
I caved and let the alcohol consume me, I loved the sensation. After many drinks later, I felt like passing out.
"I'm gonna go get some fresh air," one hand clenched my stomach, the other held a half empty vodka bottle.
As soon as the wind hit me, I felt somewhat better. Until Harry made his appearance.
"Ellen," his eyes went wide. "I have to tell you something."
I couldn't tell if he was tipsy, drunk, or just fooling around.
"Yeah?" I coughed.
He moved closer to my ear, his breathing in uneven patterns.
"I think I love you,"
I shook my head, eyes heavy from the alcohol. A drowsy laugh left my lips as I pressed a single finger into the place over his chest where his heart beat could be felt, "You don't love me. You cannot love somebody after a few minor days."
He squinted through the foggy haze of his drunken state to touch my cheek, "That's where you're wrong, darling, that's what love is. You are drawn to someone by an unexplainable force, and as you journey into a new experience, you get to learn the other little things they do, which makes you fall even deeper in love with them."
I grew quiet, pressing the opening of the vodka bottle to my lips, "Alright, so what drew you to me?"
"I don't know, but I think I'll stick around to find out."
