Chapter 6: I Can Help You

February 24th 2017

Meiqi adjusted her jacket twisting her body. She tried to make it look less obvious as possible but it was getting larger and larger. Meiqi sat down at the edge of her bed sighing loudly. She wants to puke but at the same time she wanted to sleep. Sadly, she couldn't have done either, she had to get downstairs, act as if she isn't under alot of stress get to school and play it off cool. Her back ached as she walked down the stairs to her living. Her mother greeted slightly different which worried her. "Meiqi are you alright?" She said her voice dripping with concern. It broke Meiqi's heart hearing her mother speak like that. She was not fine, she was in such a shit mode she was even surprised she hasn't snap at the woman.

"My back just hurts that's it. Don't worry." Lies. Her feet were swollen, she had the bladder of an old person, she was staving but just the sight of food made her nauseous and for nothing good she could have hidden her unusually large stomach. Yes she was four months pregnant and was doing amazing at keep it from her mother but not her classmates.

Meiqi's mother was once an Olympian runner but left because so wanted to start a family. She disappeared from the scene for a couple of years but in 2004 it was announced that she was building a stadium in South Korea and had plans to move there with her new family, her husband and five year old daughter, Meiqi. The stadium is one of the largest and most profitable stadium in all of East Asia which meant her family was talked about and had a very high reputation. There was no way her mother would have been fine her own daughter was pregnant at 17. It was only by luck that her belly was still small even she was 4 months(the baby was still healthy) but at some point her stomach would become noticeable by her mother. Hopefully by then see would have something worked.

That afternoon

Exy stood on the roof waiting nervously. Today was the day she was going to tell Meiqi about the book. Exy has been reading the book and tried to sense out the nonsense written in book. She also noticed the more she interacted with it the more information that appeared. Now she had hints towards who the girls maybe but they were just to vague.

Cancer: "Brightest smile while depression eats her alive"

Libra: "Afraid to say the truth because it just might damage her."

Scorpio: "Lost in a foreign world"

Capricorn: "Is to scared to say how she really feels."

Pisces: "Awaiting a heartbreak"

Sojung had no idea how she to find these four girls (She had already confirmed that Meiqi was the Libra and that she was Scorpio) with such little information. Exy sighs internally this was to much pressure for her. Exy heard the door open and saw Meiqi walking in a blank expression.

"Hey." Meiqi said walking up the Exy. "Cool book." She said looking at the book in the 3rd year's hand. Exy smiled before asking the girl to sit.

"Have you figure anything out yet?" Exy asked resting the book down next to her. Meiqi shook her head before running her hand through her hair. "You know you would have to worry if you'd just tell her the full story."

"You say that as if you know." Meiqi snapped at Exy who just looked down. Meiqi never told her the truth but it was not too hard for her to find out since it was always on Meiqi's mind. Exy found it was best not to tell her the truth until she knew about the book.

"You know you might be able to move with me-"

"Sojung I told you 100 times I don't know you that well. And your sister doesn't even know me."

"But-"

"Just drop it. Ok it doesn't matter right now. " Sojung stared at the girl, she was lying. Sojung gave up anyways, it wasn't good to fight against Meiqi she was surprisingly good at keeping her ground.

Exy grabbed the book and shoved it in front of Meiqi. It was opened to the Libra page. "Say it." Exy said smiling innocently . Meiqi just stared at the girl wondering what really going on in her head.

"Why?" Meiqi asked staring at page.

"Why not? It's just a book." Sojung said pushing the book closer to the girl. "And besides it says Libra and you're a Libra right."

"So why should I say it?"

"Because I said so." Exy said again her voice a bit more controlling than usual. Meiqi flinched slightly at the girl's sudden change in tone. She shrugged, it was just a stupid book nothing would go wrong.

Meiqi took a deep breath before muttering, "I am the star of Libra."

Nothing happened.

Exy frowned and looked at book. The pages looked the same as before. When she did it things began to float and everything was so weird but when Meiqi did it, nothing.

"What the fuck just happened!?!" Meiqi shouted at Exy who was caught off guard by her sudden outburst.

"What? What?" Exy asked panicked, her pupils shaking. What if something went wrong? Did she do something wrong?

"What do you mean? Are you blind or something? " she screamed. "Everything was just weird and I was floating and the ground was space and I just saw people floating and and-"

Exy was confused. When did any of that happen? Exy just look at Meiqi as the perplexed girl tried to explain what happened.

When Exy did it non of that had happened, strange things did but not that. She sighed, most she can do now is just explain everything else to her.

"OK this might be a little confusing but follow along. Ok so as of right now, you and I are stars. Stars are 12 persons who were chosen by someone or something and were given special powers and are supposed to do something with them. So far I only know about us. I'm the Star of Scorpio and you're the Star of Libra. The more the girls we find the more we learn bout what the Stars, what they mean and what we are supposed to do. "

Meiqi stared at the girl confused as ever. Super powers??? This made no sense, it was completely stupid yet it was most logical thing she could used to describe what happened.

"What was in my water?" Meiqi muttered.

"I know it's weird, " Exy said, "Do you have any special thing that you can do that most people can't. "

"I have really good memory....... I can't forget anything......" Meiqi said, looking down at her stomach, she felt anxious and a bit stress.

"Well that's weird. So you can remember anything?" Exy asked. Meiqi nodded her head. She used the skill more her own benefit in school, she never got a grade lower than 80 in her life. Nor could she forget anything that was traumatizing, and those memories really stood out.

"I can read minds." Exy said.

Meiqi smiled, "That's cool!" She said desperately trying to distract herself from her sudden dark thoughts. Exy chuckled to herself. If only Meiqi knew how weird it was to suddenly hear someone else's thoughts in your own mind.

"It really is cool but not when you can't control it." She says twiddling with her fingers. "But I'm practicing."

Meiqi gives her a thumbs up. "So what can I do?" Meiqi asks, "My mom always told me I had razor sharp reflexes. Do you think that's my super power?"

"Maybe, and probably something to do with memory. " Exy says. The bell rang signaling that their break was over. "Let's met up after school ok."
