Many weeks passed and the four were stronger and closer, except for Scott and Dan. Scott went back to his child of Hades prejudice and Dan didn't understand why. He also noticed that Phil and Mitch seemed to hang out more often while also obviously hiding something from the oldest and youngest of the four. Dan began to notice the suspicious behavior, but Scott seemed completely oblivious to whatever was actually going on. Dan was curious, but he didn't want a repeat of the many weeks before. All four of them were training hard to protect their home because they didn't know exactly when the resistance actually would rebel.

It was a day before Dan's birthday, and Phil was nowhere to be found. Dan decided to hang out with Becca, but she seemed off. She seemed to change emotions, and even personalities, every few minutes. They agreed on some "Oscar" movies from the 2010s, Becca still changing with every change of scene. Dan was obsessing over the musical scores, occasionally commenting on them. When Becca was actually "herself", she would actually join in on the conversation. Other times, she would stare at the screen, making it look like Dan was just talking to himself. The last movie ended, leaving them in silence. Dan couldn't pinpoint what was up with his sister, but he didn't like it one bit.

"So how have you and my potential brother-in-law been doing?" Becca asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence.

"I mean I think we're doing okay," Dan smiled, "and I'm more in love than I was even yesterday. Here's the thing, though. I have noticed that he's been keeping something from me. He's been hanging with Mitch a lot more often. Scott seems to know nothing about it. Then again, he won't talk to me at all, so I wouldn't know."

"What we need is a nice birthday party for you," Becca suggested. "You, me, Samson, Phil, Mitch, and Scott. I've already rented a party room for you, and it can be like a triple date kind of party thing. It'll be fun."

"Text me with which room it is," Dan bounced, actually happy for a birthday, saying his goodbye.

His mood changed from concerned to excited as he walked back to his room. He received the information from Becca, texting Phil and Mitch to meet him in the party room. He made his way to the closet, trying to pick out his outfit. He decided a simple black tee under a gray cardigan, some navy blue skinny jeans, and some white converses. He washed, dried, and straightened his hair, throwing on some cologne and recovering bite marks with makeup. He wrote a new poem before heading down to the room, everyone already there.

Becca was stunning and grungy as usual, making the boy smile. Her naturally black hair was now a sapphire blue, with strips of many different colors, and up in a perfectly messy bun. She had on a black strappy crop top, a floral rose gold skirt, and some black tights and rose gold flats. Her golden eyes were enhanced by the rose gold eyeshadow and black eyeliner and mascara. Her normally pink lips were a metallic ruby color. There was a Beauty and the Beast themes rose decorating her neck and ears and one expensive looking Grecian bangle on each wrist.
