Dakota's POV

"Nina Lancaster." Miss Diez called. I stood up and cheered for her along withh her parents and friends.

She was grinning widely as she went and got her diploma.

I sat back down next to my mom. I was sitting in the front row because it's where family sits while students sat in the back.

I zoned out not really hearing the names they were calling. Graduations are so long. I couldn't bear to sit through this next year.

I perked up again when they finally got to the M's.

"Landon Mackenhiemer." Miss Diez called out.I watched as a tall guy with long black flippy hair and snakebites walked up to Miss Diez.

I realized Nina was ogling him as he went to get his diploma. I also saw him wink at Nina then I realized he was the boy at my house for prom. He was Nina's date. I chuckled and felt my phone buzz under me.

Looking at it I saw a text from Kirsten.

[Soooo long :/ how will I ever sit through this next year?]

I laughed a little and quickly replied back.

[Just thinking the same thing. I'd rather be locked in a cage and beaten by monkeys!]

Putting my phone on my lap I heard a huge laugh in the back I knew all too well. Kirsten.

Then I heard the sound of someone yelling I looked back. Some 80 year old teacher was whisper-yelling at a bored looking Kirsten who was picking her nails.

She caught my eye and mouthed kill me and slit her index finger across her throat before returning back to the old guy who was waiting for her to say something. I chuckled and set my focus back on the graduation.

[Thanks for getting me in trouble!!] was the first thing I read when Kirsten texted back.

[Ha! Yeah right nuh uh don't blame me it's your loud gorilla laugh that got you in trouble sister :P.]

I immediately got a reply [It is not my fault! Monkeys!!? Really!?]

I almost let out a huge laugh before remembering where I was and knew the couple on the side of me would not like that very much. The lady kept narrowing her eyes at me anyways as if seeing the laugh on my face and daring me to let it out. I kept it in.

"Samara's almost up stop texting." my mom ordered staring at the stage.

"How did you know I was texting you didn't even look at me?" I questioned

"I heard Kirsten laugh like a hyena sweetie it couldn't be anyone else. Plus you forget I'm sitting right next to you." she told me never taking her eyes off the stage but I could still hear the amusement in her voice.

I laughed at that and this time my mom laughed too. "I mean I love the girl. She's like my third daughter but she got that laugh from her father. I remember us in high school his laugh was louder and crazier."

"Kirsten has a gorgeous laugh mom!" I defended still laughing. My mother raised an eyebrow and was about to reply before we heard,

"Samara Meadows." Ms. Diez called. I stood up with my mom clapping and cheering.

"Yeah Samara!!" I shouted smiling. Samara scanned the crowd until she saw me. As soon as her eyes met mine she stuck out her tongue and motioned a rock and roll sign with her hands. I laughed as I took a picture.

So Samara. My mom laughed beside me when she saw her daughter's pose. We watched as she went up and got her diploma yelling when it was finally in her hands.
