Dakota's POV

When Jamie said he wouldn't let anyone mess with me he was serious. Some guy just tried to trip me and before I could hit the ground Jamie caught me and would've punched him in the face if I didn't pull him away. He's been ditching some his friends and hanging with us more at my house why I have no idea. But it is nice having him around he's cool, funny and very childish it's nice to have him as a friend. He even started sitting with us at lunch saying he doesn't wanna be caught up with some wannabes anymore.

When we went to the park yesterday he invited some his guy friends who were cool with me and they got on the swings for almost an hour and wouldn't let any of the kids go on but then after they played tag. It's surprising how he deals with kids. One minute they despise him but then they love him the next. Jenny Jamie and I were on our way to gym when someone stopped us. I turned around and to my surprise to see Cameron standing there. I felt Jamie tense up next to me and only because he knew all about what Cameron said to me and how we broke up. He wanted to know so I spilled.

"Can we talk a second?" he asked as I stared and Jamie spoke for me. "No leave her alone we're gonna be late!" Then I found it in me to speak and said "Sure." curious as to what he had to say. Jenny pulled me to the side as Jamie gave Cameron an angry look. "What are you doing?"

"I know what I'm doing Jen I just wanna see what he has to say." I told her.

"Fine but Jamie and I are right in the gym if you need us." she said sternly. I chuckled. "Alright mom. Let's go back over there before Jamie kills Cameron." and we walked back over. "2 minutes." I said to Cameron sighing. "I'll tell Coach you're in the nurse throwing up!" Jamie called as Jenny grabbed his arm while Jamie was making a punch form with his hands as Jenny pulls him around the corner with all her might and I laugh.

"Ok what was that?" He says referring to Jamie and I shrug and say "Nothing." He didn't look convinced at all. "Looks like a whole more than nothing." He says tensing up.

"Why do you care?" I demanded.

"I thought you hated jocks and Jamie is what they call a jock." he stated crossing his arms. I stood there feeling the need to defend Jamie. "Well so are you and if you must know Jamie's the best. He's a true friend when you need one." I sighed again.

"Oh." He said looking away for a second then back at me "Anyways Dakota I thought about what you said yesterday-" he started but I cut him off.

"And you want to tell me what? To tell me how much I'm a liar and how much I'm asking for attention? I've heard it all before. You know what Cameron screw you!" I felt the anger boiling inside me as I started to walk to the gym but he grabbed my arm.

"You didn't let me finish. I wanted to say I wanna know what happened and I also wanted to say sorry for what I said to you." He finished and I blurted the question I've wanted to ask him ever since we broke up. "Why are you dating Kristi?"

"Because after I broke up with you I went to her house for some reason and we talked she told me what happened and we're dating now." He said running his hands through his hair.

"You know..." I started "I didn't start that fight." and he stared at me before saying "I'm not so sure about that."

"Why would you? Kristi gets that sympathy vote and this sympathy vote and I take everything everyone threw at me because Kristi is popular and I'm not and who the hell cares anymore. Who cares if no one believes me! I know the truth she slapped me first and Mrs Michaels saw and didn't do anything! So believe what you want Cameron it's fine I'm outta here senior year anyways."
