Dakota's POV
The next day I woke up to my alarm clock playing my favorite song Need You Now by Lady Antebellum. As I got in the shower, I decided to song along, "It's a quarter after one. I'm all alone and I need you now!" I belted out while washing my body.
"Dakota!!" My mom screamed from downstairs. "Get out the shower, and get ready!!"
Turning off the water, I stepped out the shower and walked in my room to scan my options. Finally, I decided on a pair of light blue skinny jeans with a shirt that quoted 'I love to Shop'.
Applying light grey eyeshadow, I fixed my eyelashes up with some mascara. I looked at my reflection in mirror and was pretty pleased. I stared at my dull brown eyes and mousy brown hair deciding, I shouldn't put it in a bun. Pulling out my straightener, I worked my magic and threw on a black headband and rushed downstairs.
"You look good." Mom complimented me as I pulled out the strawberry container from the fridge. "Yeah even better than me." My sister, Samara said, nudging mom. "Not always right, Shannon?" Shannon was my mom. Samara just liked to call her that sometimes to annoy her.
"It's mom not Shannon got it?" Samara raised her hands up in surrender, nodding. I watched as her jet black hair bobbed up and down with her head, stuffing a strawberry in my mouth. See, Samara used to have brown hair like mom and I, but one day three years ago she came home and boom it was black. Mom threw a hissy fit for about a hour, but I had to admit it looked nice on her it was so Samara-ish. If that even made sense.
Twirling my keys on my index finger, I walked out to my truck with Samara, who's car was in the shop because she crashed it. But, that story is for another day. I stopped in front of Kirsten's house, beeping the horn lightly. Her grandma hates when I beep too loud ever since I beeped so much that she fell out her bed. She threatened if I ever beeped too loud again and I quote, "She would throw hot grits on me." I'm pretty sure she was just kidding, but I wasn't gonna take that chance.
It was only two weeks ago when Kirsten and I started planning to ruin Kristi Harrison's birthday party. So far we had nothing except we knew that she was planning a, "All Gucci and Prada Pool Party!" or so I heard. "Hey." Kirsten greeted, getting in.
"Hey, hey, hey." I say, while Kirsten rolls her eyes at me. "So, gimme the juice. Flow your ideas out." She said, searching through her bag. "I've got nothing." I admit, rubbing my face.
"Ditto." Kirsten said, raising her hand. "What are you talking about?" Samara questioned.
"Nothing!" Kirsten and I unison, while I turn into the parking lot.
"You look hot." Kirsten grins at me. "I know." I say, giving her a fake flip while she and Sam laugh.
Walking into the cafeteria, we head to breakfast line, while some people stare at us. "What are they staring at?" I whispered, leaning towards Samara.
"You." She pointed out. "I guess that you really, really, look good today." Samara whispered back. I rolled my eyes, moving forward in line. Can't a girl just dress up for herself and not get attention!?

Kristi's POV
Parking my car, I step out in my Jimmy Choos and walked into the cafeteria. Everyone's eyes were focused on that slob Dakota. Ugghhhh, I thought I dealt with that loser a couple weeks ago. Gripping the latte in my hand, I strutted over to her table and watched as all my goodness splattered all over her hair and clothes.
