A.N.: Hello, everyone! Just to let you know, this is an entirely alternate universe story. All names except for Bradley's are of made-up people, I've changed the name of his sister and I don't mention any of his family's real names. I hope you enjoy reading! :)

“I’m not going.” I stated, crossing my arms. My mother had woken me up barely 10 minutes ago with the happy announcement that we would be heading to my grandmother's house at the beach. Along with the rest of our family. How fun could that be?
“You are going, Heloise. I don’t care if you don’t want to, it’s a family reunion and you have to be there, ok?”
“But mooooooom!” I made my best puppy face, sticking out my bottom lip on a pout. It always worked with her.
“No, quit that. Not going to work. Get in the car, please?”
“Alright…” I muttered, letting out a loud sigh before sitting on the passenger seat and crossing my arms once again.
“You are so funny when you’re mad, Heloise.” my mom laughed at my expression.
“Great way of making me want to go even more, mom.”
“Sorry. You’re in charge of the soundtrack, what about that?”
My mood improved a lot after she said those words. I put on my beautiful McFLY playlist, the “family reunion” sounding a lot better when Everybody Knows was blaring through the speakers.

We only got to our destination about 4 hours later. I breathed in the ocean scent deeply. Even though I didn't really want to be here, I remembered how much I actually loved this place.
“Remember, Heloise, you’re going to see your aunt Megan and her son and daughter, Bradley and Caroline. You haven’t seen each other since you were seven, cause they moved to the USA.”
“All I can remember about that time was that Brad was the most annoying cousin I could ever have, but I promise will be in my best behavior.”
“Good. That’s all I ask you.”
I rolled my eyes without my mom seeing, following her into the house.
You’re probably wondering why I’m so “excited” about this. But as I sentenced before, Bradley was a total jerk. We lived next door to their house, and one time we were at grandma’s house, we had to sleep in the same room, he put my hand in a bowl full of water during the night and I ended up wetting the bed. I’d stopped wetting the bed by the time I was four, so you can imagine how I hadn't felt that embarrassed in a long time. After that “fun” trip, they moved to the USA. We hadn’t seen them ever since.
Mom and I said hi and hugged everyone in the room, including my aunt and my cousin, Caroline. Brad was nowhere to be seen, so I felt kinda relieved for that.
“Nana, can you show me where I’m staying? I wanna unpack and change my clothes.”
“Of course sweetheart, follow me.”
We got to the second floor of the house and she pointed at the door of the room where the embarassing moment happened.
“I hope you don’t mind, but you’ll be sharing the room with a cousin. I’m sorry you won’t have your own room.”
“Oh, no problem, grand! You can go back to them now, I’ll be down there in a little bit.”
“You know you’re home, right? If you need anything, ask me or just get it yourself.”
