Chapter 14
We danced until Jennifer told us we needed to order our food. I didn't want to leave him. His arms made me feel safe. I felt comfortable and at peace when I was with him. He ordered a steak and I ordered a "green medley" salad. I had no idea what that was, but it was under the vegetarian section of the menu.

"You're a vegetarian? Is there anything else I don't know about you?" He asked

"I've been a vegetarian since I was 8 years old. I was a vegan up until 2 years ago. I need my chai tea lattes" I told him.

"Impressive. I grew up in a house full of carnivores. My brothers and I all love meat." He said, cutting into the steak that was just put in front of him.

"I'm not one of those vegetarians that hate on other people because they eat meat. Other people make their choices, and I've made mine. Telling someone they can't eat meat because I'm a vegetarian is like telling someone they can't eat a donut because I'm on a diet" I said, piercing a piece of lettuce with my fork.

"Fair enough." He chuckled. We talked to Jen and Josh while we ate, and Izzy came over to "check up" on me. Izzy excused us, and pulled me by the arm to the restroom.

"Details. Now." She growled

"We danced, and we talked. I told him about me, and he told me about him. He's a complete carnivore and I've been a vegetarian since I was 8. We are complete opposites, but match each other perfectly." I gushed.

"Oh. My. God. You too are perfect for each other. Wait, did he ask you to dance?" She asked. "This is extremely important"

"He asked me. And it was wonderful. Now quick, help me freshen up" I said with urgency. I popped another Altoid in my mouth, ran my fingers through my hair and carefully re-applied my lipstick. "How do I look?" I asked

"Great, let's go" she said, shoving me out the door. I sat back down next to Liam. He smirked, but I wasn't sure why.

"So it was wonderful, huh?" He taunted

"You were spying? Liam, I must say I'm shocked!" I faked astonishment to hide my embarrassment. I did my best to cover my flaming cheeks, but I guess I didn't do a good enough job, because Liam pointed it out.

"You look beautiful when you blush, I wish you'd do it more often" he said, lifting my chin with his finger. I blushed even harder and tried to look down, but he kept my eyes locked with his.

"Yea right." I chuckled, pushing his hand away and turning back to my salad.

"I'm serious. You look gorgeous." He said, still staring at me with those baby blue eyes that seemed to stare straight into your soul, like they knew every secret you had. I don't think I've ever blushed so much in my entire life. I rolled my eyes at him teasingly and kept eating. "You eat like a lady, too." He said, mimicking me by taking a tiny bite and covering his mouth with a napkin when he chewed.

"I do not eat like that! I might be lady like but I don't take that small of bites." I gave him a playful shove, and he laughed.

"Yes you do." The entire table said in unison.

"Who's side are you guys on, anyway?" I chuckled.

"You laugh like a little girl, too" Jennifer said, biting off a huge bite of the pizza she was sharing with Josh.

"I. Do. Not." I struggled to get out the words because I was laughing so hard.

"Can I record that and set it as my ringtone? It's seriously hilarious!" Jen laughed.

"Shut up." I chuckled. "You people are meanie heads" I fake pouted.

"Aww, you know we love you." Jen comforted me, but you could tell she was holding back hysterical laughter.

"Yeah, sure. Good answer." I sassed back.

"Oooo, girl. She did not just go there!" Josh said in a "ghetto" voice while snapping his fingers in a Z formation.

"Did you just roll in from 2009? Because the last time I heard that one I almost fell off my dinosaur." Yep. I went there. The entire table busted out laughing, including Liam. "And I hate to break it to you, but you laugh like a serial killer, Liam." He just laughed harder. I might be cute and adorable at first, but I'm one of the sassiest people you'll ever meet.

We finished dinner and Jen and I split a huge dessert that looked like it was half as big as I was.

"This thing is half the size of me!" I exclaimed

"Are you scared?" Jennifer asked, teasing me again.

"Hell naw girl, let's do this" I stabbed my fork into the middle of it, and started chewing. By the time it was halfway gone, I could eat no more.

"I think I'm going to fall into a food coma." I said, patting my bloated stomach.

"You had like, 3 bites?" Jen asked, apparently appalled that I couldn't eat anymore.

"4, thank you very much. And they were huge bites!" I defended.

"They were normal bites, honey." She corrected.

"Wait." I said, holding up a finger. I burped. "There we go". I started eating again, as Jen watched. Liam just laughed some more.

"I can't believe Princess Danielle just burped!" She exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and kept eating. It was really good.

"Would the princess like to dance?" Liam said, imitating a prince.

"I'm busy." I said with a mouthful of cake.

"I see. Let me know when her schedule opens up." He joked again

"We'll see." I winked, still shoveling cake in my mouth. He smiled, and started talking to Alex, the guy who played Cato. Jen and I somehow finished the dessert, and I quickly ran off to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I can't have cake in my teeth if I'm going to dance with Liam. I quickly brushed, rinsed and touched up my makeup before walking out to find Liam again. I tapped his shoulder, and he turned around to face me.

"Do you mind if I steal him away from you for a second?" I asked Alex.

"Not at all." He replied. This time, I led Liam out to the dance floor. Music played through the entire restaurant. We moved together, and I thanked God I'd taken the time to brush my teeth. Because he kissed me.
