A Railgun in Fairy Tail Book 2: Dragons

Level 6 shifting Railgun......The Monster Revived

Natsu couldn't believe his eyes. He'd heard from Mikoto about the strange experiments that Black Whisper and Academy City attempted to create level 6 espers.......but this was ridiculous.

Mikoto seemed to wander around aimlessly, her ghost-like blank stare not looking at or comprehending anything in it's sight, black lightning bolts shot out of her body at random intervals, destroying entire warehouses and creating gouges and craters in the ground. The strange black energy ribbons that flew from her bangs lashed out and sliced around like electricity while her now black Thunder Dragon wings began to erupt and change form.....as if Mikoto were slowly evolving.

"M-Mikoto!?" Natsu shouted. "Hey Mikoto!! What's going on!!!? Are you okay!!?"

"I wouldn't get her attention if I were you......" said Gore Beastwalker. "That will only encourage your death."

Mikoto turned her head to stare blankly at Natsu, the bright round white pupil seeming to pierce heaven and earth even more effectively then Oracion Seis's Hoteye. She continued to stare at Natsu for a moment with that unnerving stare, what she was thinking, or whether she was thinking at all.....no one could tell.

"Mikoto!!" shouted Natsu. "You've got to hear me!! Come on!!"

Mikoto pointed a finger at Natsu and a massive blast of black lightning soared at him and exploded with the force of twenty of Laxus's lightning bolts, causing Natsu to fly into the air like a rag doll and land with enough force to create a sickeningly large crater.

Electricity seemed to erupt out of Mikoto's pitch black left eye as she walked away from Natsu without much deliberation. The wings finally seemed to turn solid as the black lightning from which they were constructed flattened out into the shape of pitch black spiked wings with spines that jutted outwards with polygon shaped energy shooting out of the ends of the spikes. The wings shot out a multitude of diamond shaped energy rings out at the warehouses in Mikoto's way, demolishing a path for her as she continued her way to the main part of Academy City.

"Hmmm......" Said Gore. "I wonder if she will reach level 6 this time........and I wonder if she will survive..........."

Natsu got out of the crater coughing up rocks with his back smoking. "Wh-what do you mean if she survives!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO MIKOTO DANG IT!!!!!????"

"I merely reawakened the state she was in when the scientist Gensei Kihara loaded the electric virus into her through the MISAKA network. Right now, her powers are slowly increasing and evolving as until she reaches Level 6. Each esper is quite difference in the method they reach this next level. Accelerator was perhaps the easiest to control throughout his shift as he was able to keep his mind. Electromasters however.....are quite......unstable. Those wings are quite new though, I would imagine her Dragon Slayer powers are accelerating the shift."

"And what happens if she reaches level 6?" asked Natsu shakily. "ANSWER ME!!"

"Considering Accelerator was the only esper who was ever calculated to remain stable had he reached that phase..........either she'll destroy the entire city.......or more likely, she'll overload and die."

"YOU FREAKING BASTARD!!!" shouted Natsu as his entire body became engulfed in intense flames. "You change her back right now!!!!"

"I think not....." said Gore. "I only obey my master.......and he wishes it to be this way."

Natsu screamed with rage and launched himself at Gore. "Sword Horn of The Fire Dragon!!!!!!"

Gore Beast walker held out his right hand and caught Natsu's head just as he shot forward like a meteor at Gore.

"Brute force has never worked on me...." said Gore as he raised Natsu up in his closed fist and brought his head smashing into the ground, creating a sonic boom that caused all the glass in the area to shatter. "Of Hydra Head's melee fighters.......I am the strongest. You may have barely been able to survive against Night Reveler, but he was ranked 20th in strength among our number.......I am ranked 18th."
