Lance's POV:

As we drove back, I wondered if kissing her on the first date was too fast. She was quiet for a long time, so I looked to my side only to see her fast asleep.

My angel was so beautiful when she slept. Strands of her hair fell upon her face and her pretty pink lips were slightly open, making me want to kiss her again.

I wondered why her parents just randomly came to the apartment when they barely had enough time for her when she was in need of support.

By the time I pulled into the parking spot, Vanessa had groggily woken up.

"Sorry, I was just so tired. After staying in bed for a week, this much exertion is exhausting. Now I face my parents." She sighed, getting out of the car.

"No problem. And we are going to face your parents. I'm not letting you deal with them alone." I assured her, taking her hand after locking the car.

I smiled as we walked up to the apartment. When we opened the door, her parents were sitting on the couch, their faces set in a look of mourning.

----Vanessa's POV:

My parents were sitting on the couch, and Sarah was opposite to them, her face mirroring my parents' expressions.

"What happened?" I asked urgently.

"Leila is...pregnant. Her mother moved up the wedding so it doesn't look like the baby was born out of wedlock. The wedding is next weekend." My dad explained calmly.

"What! We have finals the week after that. I can come since I'm getting an extension, but I don't expect you to come. I don't want you to mess up your schedule just for a wedding." I exclaimed, the last part directed towards Lance, who was still holding my hand.

"Don't worry about missing finals. Your father has already talked to the dean and he's willing to let you miss finals and make them up without penalization. My concern is not having enough time to fit you into that dress. We were supposed to have a month. Now I'm glad I got a larger size." My mother expressed, unaware that Lance was right next to me.

"That's what you are worried about," I mumbled, sitting down next to Lance, clutching his hand tighter.

"I'll come with you. I don't mind the slightest bit about missing finals. I already packed. No point in unpacking." Lance cheerfully stated, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on the back of my hand.

"You don't have to do that," I said, managing a smile.

"I don't have to, but I want to." He replied, smiling at me.

"Then that's settled. Make sure you leave by May 24th. Have a good night." My father closed, getting up and walking out, my mother following suit. Once the door was shut, I stood up, looked at Lance and offered,

"You really don't have to come, I won't be offe-"

His soft, sweet lips connect with mine, effectively shutting me up.

"Please don't think that because of this or that I don't or won't want to be with you." He stated bashfully, his chocolate eyes level with mine.

I smiled and kissed him again, wanting to feel him on me again. He smiled and deepened our kiss, pressing me up against the kitchen wall passionately. His arms were wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. We pulled apart to take a breath and he smiled,

"I don't think we should stop doing this."

And joined him in the middle again, savoring the moment. His hands were at my hips and running up and down my back, carefully avoiding the cut that was still hurting.
