Griselda's POV:

I stood waiting at the base of the stairs, knowing they would be coming down any moment. I can't believe my little girl, who has now flourished into a young lady is gonna get the prom she deserves. I blinked back the tears that had started and looked up where Lance and Chase hurried down the stairs.

Brooklyn yelled from the top of the stairs,

    "Ready?"

A chorus of confirmations answered her.

We stood by the end of the stairs, looking to the top, awaiting their respective woman.

Brooklyn was the first to come down, her shy smile a first. As she gracefully came down the stairs, I let her and Chase have their moment.

Lance and I stood on the other side, waiting for the Vanessa. Brooklyn had shown me Vanessa's dress, but I hadn't seen it on her yet.

---Lance's POV:

My unwavering attention was on my girl as she quietly shut the door behind her and met my eyes. Her crooked, shy smile made me feel a fuzziness that hadn't touched my heart in a while. As she elegantly made her way down the spiral staircase, Griselda snapped pictures, her face beaming. When Vaness was only a few steps up, I walked to her side, not being able to contain myself anymore. I held out my hand, hoping she would take it.

Her hand comfortably rested on mine as we walked down the last few steps. Griselda had not stopped taking photos and I think Brooklyn was taking a video, but all I knew was that I had my girl beside me.

I turned back to the table where her corsage lay. Yes, we are 22 years old, but I'm not skimping on anything tonight. I'm going to give her a night to remember.

I stretched the pearl chain of the corsage and slipped it on to her left wrist. As I adjusted the flowers, I realized truly how small her wrist was. I could wrap my thumb and index finger around and still, my finger would overlap!

Unbeknownst to me, she had gotten a boutonniere for me! She came closer and pinned it to my tuxedo lapel. Her fingers brushed against my chest, sending the almost calm butterflies in my stomach fluttering again. Her large, brown eyes looked back at me, making my heart grow with my lov-like...like for her.

I carefully placed a kiss on her lips, so as to not smudge her pretty maroon lip. Her face turned a light pink color and it confirmed my guess that she wasn't wearing foundation. She didn't need despite what every advertisement around tried to tell her.

"I need a few pictures!" Griselda exclaimed, readying her camera. We all got together and she took as many pictures as she could before letting us go.

We stepped out of the doors and were surprised to a see a limo. We all glanced at one another trying to figure who sent it. Finally, Chase walked up to the limo where the chauffeur greeted him and they conversed. Finally, Chase waved us over.

We got inside and were awed at the interior. The windows were plastered with various photos of Vaness, Chase, and Brooklyn, a few even including me. Surprised, I turned to Chase who had a poker face on. Hm...something is up.

Vanessa's POV:

We arrived at our high school much quicker than expected. Chase and Lance shared a look, but I couldn't catch anything that was conveyed. Hmm...I wonder what those two are up to. No matter, tonight, I face the demons I left behind 4 years ago.
