Brooklyn's POV:

"We'll be right there, just give us a few minutes. You guys head up." I yelled from the car, shooing Vanessa along. She gave me an odd look but continued. Once she was in the stairwell, Chase gunned it out of there, heading straight there.

     "Are we on time?"

"Yup, you grab the top pans, I'll grab the others. We have 5 minutes before she realizes that we weren't following her up to the apartment." He told me, parking and clicking open the trunk. Hurriedly, we filled it to the top and drove to the Campus Grove.

"I hope everything turns out alright," I voiced aloud, praying to every higher deity.

Vanessa's POV:

Lance led me up to the apartment and told me,

"Freshen up and then meet me in the hallway." I complied and unzipped the graduation gown, glad to no longer be drowning in the fabric. Once I was at peace with my eyeshadow, I stepped into the living room, where he was talking to someone on the phone in hushed whispers.

I walked behind and encircled my arms around his strong, solid torso. He jumped a bit, but abruptly ended the conversation, slipping his phone back into his pocket.

"Who was that?" I asked, as nonchalantly as possible.

His cheeks flushed, and he stuttered through his whole sentence,

   "Um..that...uh..that was someone..who...is..helping me..."

My eyebrows almost flew off my face, seeing through the answer. I didn't want to ruin tonight, so I let it slide, but I filed it away for further investigation.

     "Okay...so where are we going?"

"It's a surprise." was his reply in response to that. Helpful, really helpful Lance.

"Let's go," He abruptly said, taking my hand and leading my to the door.

Once we were situated in his car, he hit a play button and out came my Spotify playlist, specifically my romantic songs one. Why did he choose this playlist? What is this man up to?

"Really shouldn't leave your passwords lying around." He said in between songs. Shrugging it off, I joined him in singing all my favorite songs on our way to wherever we were headed.

After going thru about half of the songs in my playlist, we stopped on the shoulder of a road and he turned off the engine. What? We are literally in the middle of nowhere. I turned to him, but he was all too prepared for my question, so his response was,

     "Do you trust me?"

  "Yes," I answered, truthfully.

So he exited the car and I followed suit as we got off the paved road and headed to a rough, unpaved path. Oh dang it, bad time to wear heels.

"Already on it." He answered, suddenly picking me up, eliciting a squeal from me as I was rearranged in his arms. I laid my head against his chest and from what I could gather, we were traveling over a small hill. When we had reached paved land, he put me down, placing a kiss on my nose just before doing so.

I blushed, not only from being carried but his show of affection.

I looked around and was amazed at the least. The area was beautiful, the grass water, the benches made of real wood. It looks like a scene from a movie in which someone was about to propose. Hmm... Let's not think about that Vanessa, let's not think about that.
