Lance's POV:
"Are you almost ready? Brooklyn and Chase are in the living room and ready to leave."
"Almost, I just need help with this clasp. Mind helping me?" she asked me as I unlocked the door. I pushed it open and saw her struggling to find the corresponding hook for the clasp on a beautiful dress that hugged her in just the right places.
"Are you done staring?"she asked me, a small blush spreading as she looked down.
"My eyes could
never tire of observing such beauty in my world," I whispered against the nape of her neck as I hooked the silver hook through the loop. I took her hand and twirled her around, the ends of her dress swirling about. I handed her the unzipped graduation gown and cap as she finished dressing. I looked at the rows of cords that were laid out on her bed, an array of colors spanning the rainbow.
I placed them on her shoulder. She took my arm as we walked out to the living room where Brooklyn and Chase were talking with their parents.
"Oh, honey you look so adorable! Cute as a button." both of the mothers said in unison as my girl walked in. She hugged both of them and turned back to me. Grabbing my hand, she introduced us:
"This is my boyfriend, Lance. Lance, these are my second mothers, Megan and Allison, Brooklyn and Chase's real mothers respectively." They both crushed me in a massive hug, Megan whispering,
"We'll be talking later." We pulled away when Vanessa's alarm began to ring.
"Time to leave! Lance and I will be taking one car, Brooklyn and Chase in another." She informed us, grabbing her phone, keys, and speech from the countertop.
~~At Graduation (Vanessa's POV):
I take a deep breath as I look upon the crowd beyond the podium. They had discreetly slid a wooden box for her to stand on so that her face was not directly below the microphone. Ah, the disadvantages of being below 5' 2". Nonetheless, it was time. Time for her to give her speech. Here goes nothing,
"Good morning my fellow graduates!..."
--20 minutes later...
I walked back to my seat with Brooklyn who is our Salutatorian. She clasped my hand in hers and whispered,
"That was awesome. I can't wait to hear what Lance-a-lot has got to say!" I blushed, swatting her hand.
We rise again to receive our degrees and then sit back down for the remainder of the speeches.
Once we throw our caps into the air and I shake hands with the Dean for the last time, Brooklyn and I step down the stage to meet her parents, Chase, and Lance. We embrace each other and Lance presses a soft kiss to my temple, whispering,
"We've got to celebrate,"
"We do. What do you have in mind?" I mumbled, his kiss affecting me more than it should.
"Opening some mail..." He said, giving me a sly smile.

Yes, that made absolutely zero sense.
May or may not be due to the fact that the holidays are here and that means endless hours of planning parties.
Or because I like keeping you all on the edge of your (maybe literal) seats.
