IN THIRD PERSON
A shiver ran through Caylx's body. A shot, more walkers! That was the last thing she wanted. "I got it dad I got it!" Caylx ran to the small windown that over looked the field. The little boy...Rick's son Carl she thought...was holding a small bird and was running towards his dad.
From what she knew about walkers...RIck was not going to be happy. Although Carl got a small bird which could barely feed a person, it was a fatale discision. That gun shot could attract a ton of walkers. Caylx saw it happen. Her neighbors across the street shot something and a herd of at least 40 walkers came up the street. The entire street fought them all off but still quite a few people were lost including her brother.
A woman's voice interuptted her thoughts. But it wasnt Andrea's or Lori's.
"Sorry Caylx. That was just Carl everythings fine." The voice called up.
A sigh of relief escaped Caylx and she leaned her dripping body against the wall. That was a close one...she thought. Slowly regaining composure she let the towel drop at her feet and picked up the folded clothes laid out for her.
A pair of worn light washed jeans that look like they were from years ago, probably a hand me down. Next was a black tank top green jacket with many pockets. She slipped them on and looked at herself in the mirror.
She smiled at the new clothes. She liked the way they looked and she had gotten better than she asked for. Caylx expected some old, large pants and a teeshirt.
After about 10 minutes of combing the knots out of her hair she put it in a pony tail and stepped out of the bathroom. A trail of steam floated into the air when the bathroom was exposed.
She poked her head out to find Maggie leaning against the wall. "Oh Hi! Im Maggie! I was just making sure you all ready and stuff." She smiled and held her hand out.
Caylx smiled at the older girl. She looked to be about 17 only a few years older than Caylx. "Hi nice to meet you. Im Caylx....Caylx Ebony." She brightly returned the smile and gave her a firm shake.
"Pretty name...anyways here are some old boots of Beths. You got small feet and luckily so does she so they should fit well." Maggie replied holding a pair of brown vintage boots out to her.
Caylx slipped them on and walked a few steps around the hall. "Wow, they fit great! Thanks!" Caylx smiled up at the girl.
"No problem. Now lets get you settled." Maggie trotted into the room across from the bathroom and pushed the door open hitting the wall lightly.
The room was a beige color on the walls and the floor was a glossy dark wood with a small twin bed in against the wall in the middle of the room. A pair of dressers sat against the back next to them and a small desk with some papers on it in the opposite corner as well.
It was cute and coozy and wasnt too much so Caylx knew she'd be comfortable there.
"You like it?" Maggie smiled starring at Caylx who had a light grin on her face.
"Yes...its coozy. Better than what Im used to." Caylx responded hooking her fingers on the belt loops of the jeans.
"Well good. Ill get ya some more clothes later and stuff but lets go for a ride....Dad wants me to take you out on a ride. Get to know ya a little." Maggie nodded gesturing to follow out the door.
Caylx agreed and silently followed. The two of them, clomped down the stairs in their loud boots as they neared the large kitchen and living room. Only few people were occupying the house at the time. Lori and Patrici were chatting as they cut up some vegetables and fruit to place in containers, and Hershel was napping on the long blue velvet couch in the living room.
