IN THIRD PERSON
Caylx awoke in disarray. Her vision was cloudy and she couldn't quite make out the sounds that filled of the people around her. She reached up but all she could feel was a cold metal bar with something soft above it.
"Caylx?" A voice called. "Caylx?" It repeated.
She kept reaching for consciousness but the drowsiness that overcame her felt so warm and reassuring...it felt safe. That's where Caylx wanted to be. Safe.
"Dad she won't wake up!" She heard the voice of a younger child now. It was one she recognized...who was it...she knew this voice!
"Here move aside." An older man's voice came into view. She fluttered her eyes seeing a faint white beard come over her. No matter how hard she tried not one of her sense would come into full view. It was impossible for her.
Suddenly an alarming cold substance (water) fell over her chest. She lurched up grabbing for something that wasn't there.
Gasping for air she looked around. Her mouth trying to form words. "Dad she's awake!" The young boy called again. Although this time, she knew who it was. Carl.
"Wha-What-Where-What!?" She stuttered out her eyes darting between Hershel and Carl.
"It's okay, your safe now." Hershel started touching her hand. She flinched away at first before letting her hand go back under his. It felt safe.
Safe.
Rick finally came in, hand on his gun and sweat covering his brow. What had really happened?
"What happened?" Caylx finally managed to stutter out.
She looked around. She was sitting in a bunk bed. Dirty white sheets and an uncomfortable matress. Concrete floors with a door made out of bars. Where was she? The scene before her was all too familiar but she couldn't place her finger on where or what it actually was.
"We lost...Patricia, Shane, Andrea, Jimmy..." Rick started running a hand through his hair.
Beth suddenly fled the room. At first Caylx wasn't sure why but then she remembered Jimmy was her boyfriend...and he was on the lost list...
A name sparked her memory. "Andrea...the nice lady...blond hair right?" I say recalling who she was.
"Yes." He answered solemly.
"How'd she...pass?" Caylx asked tentatively.
"We don't know. Carol said she saved her, then the two got separated. None of us actually know if she's alive." Rick kneeled down next to the bed.
Caylx hadn't realized but she had squeezed up in the corner of the bed and was hugging the wall. Her knees were tucked up to her chest and she looked scared. That was why everyone was being so slow about all this information. But she felt safe like that and wasn't about to let go of the wall. Hershel's hand was still there and grabbed it shakily.
"Rick...Y-You were the last one I- I saw...." She nodded her head asking for information.
"Caylx, let me start from the beginning." He sighed looking around at everyone. By now the whole group was there except T-Dog. She wasn't sure where he was but he wasn't on the lost list he was probably keeping watch for...wherever they were.
"Glen and Maggie had been in the forest on the way back from a food run. A walker creeped up on Glenn and Maggie shot it. There were tons of walkers with in minutes. Unfortunately to get back to the house they had to lead them with them. They led them into the field where we all began shooting and getting the cars ready to leave....there was no choice but to leave...it wasn't safe...it was over run..." Rick paused for my understanding.
