IN THIRD PERSON
It was clear that they had to do something but Caylx was oddly mesmerized by watching the pair run for their lives. Maybe because it was always her and she hadnt had human contact in months till now but thats what she knew.
"Caylx, we cant get to the house were going to have to move in close and bring them out into the field..." Rick said harshly grabbing weapons from the truck.
"Someone needs to sharp shoot. Maggie and Glenn are missing each shot!" Caylx yelled angrily.
"I know, just come with me." Daryl said sprinting down the hill. And as if on cue Daryl started jumping and screaming and waving all sorts of things to attract the walkers. Rick let the car alarm go off and soon only a few walkers were on Maggie and Glenn.
"Shit. Come on then." Rick said ushering us up the hill. From there I toke a shot getting a walker in the leg. The gasping sounds from it were saddening but not saddening enough to stop shooting. Daryl got it in the head and after Rick shot two I shot another in the head.
"Glenn!" Maggie yelled running out the door after him. Glen had started to shoot at the back side of the walkers making them all turn around from us to him.
"God dammit Glenn." Rick yelled shooting as many as he could. Lucky for Glen, he was good under certain pressure and he toke aim on three.
This wasnt going well and Caylx was positive Glenn would get a nice chunk from his leg if he didnt run his ass back to the house. Caylx knew she could end this now. Her bow arm rose and she pulled back with the other. She shot but missed the arrow landing in the foot of the closest walker to Glenn.
Caylx's boots rose from the low cut grass and into the dirt of the forest as she ran a circle around the entire property. She ran down from the side of Glen and saw a few walk over.
"Caylx! What are you doing?!" Yelled Daryl trying to shoot and yell at the same time.
She didnt respond but instead pulled out her knife and ran at the closest monster. Her blade plunging into its eyeball she grunted and pulled it back out making a gross noise and splattering blood across her face.
Suddenly dirty finger nails pulled at her skin making a long gash in her arm. A yelp escaped Caylx's lips as she elbowed the walker in the face and then slamming the knife into its ear.
"Son of a bitch." Caylx swore running from the walkers now persuing her instead of Glenn. Daryl, all the way on the other side of the hill rushed of but was too far away. And Glenn, to busy coughing and clutching cramps to be able to help her. Caylx clutched her arm tightly, blood flowing through her fingers. It was bad.
And she knew it too.
But she was too afraid to look at it. She's never had something this bad. It was always long scratches that left small scars that faded with time. Now she knew this one was permanent....if she lived. The blood escaping from the wound was progressing and she could smell the blood herself. The worst part is even if they got rid of all these walkers the smell of her blood would attract thousands more.
"Help!" Caylx screamed above the noise. Daryl was still far away and would probably need some time before he could get a good shot since hed been running so long. And who knew where Rick, Glenn and Maggie were! Things werent looking good for Caylx, and she knew it.
"Cay are you alright!" Rick called shooting three a few yards away.
"No! I'm hurt!" Caylx called back gritting her teeth from the pain of the wound.
"Are you bit!?!?!" Rick inched closer to her alarmed by the thought of infection.
"No! Just a scratch." Caylx sunk down on the tree squeezing her arm forcing more blood out.
More gun shots went off before Rick came over to the tree. "Daryl made it. So did Glenn and Hershel. There can't be many more. Now....lets see what we got."
One look at the wound and it wasnt good. It was deep almost bone deep. Three long gaping holes about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. No wonder Caylx was in so much pain. She couldnt even bear to look at it.
"It'll be okay Caylx. Just for now...." Rick started quickly looking behind him and then back at caylx. He pulled on his white teeshirt under his deputy uniform and pulled a long piece of fabric off of his shirt and wrapped it around her arm.
"Ehh!" Caylx screamed with pain filling her voice, tears squeezing through her eyelids at the sudden pressure of the bandage. It immidiatly filled with red and the bandage no longer reaked of sweat, but now it reaked with fresh blood.
"Cmon Cay." Rick grunted picking her up into his arms.
"My bow! My BOW!" Caylx yelled as the sight of it up against the tree covered with blood saddend her. But just as she caught the last glimpse a dirty boot stepped into view.
"Rick look ou-!" But it was too late. The walker was already on both of them more importantly on Rick. Caylx stumbled to the side and began collapsing in the pool of blood from her arm again.
As Rick struggled with the walker Daryl came into view.
"Daryll." Caylx grunted squeezing her arm tightly.
"Caylx!!!" Daryl ran over with bow in hand and kneeled down. "What can I-" "Rick!"
Caylx pointed a shaky finger and Daryl gasped. The walker's head wascovered in maggots and slowly maggots fell on top of Rick as he got closer to Ricks face. Daryl drew a dagger and and ran at the walker plunging his knife into the ear and forcing it off Rick.
Caylx, Rick and Daryl watched as the knife became enveloped in the sea of Maggots.
"Revolting." Rick grunted getting to his feet. Daryl helped him up and the two jogged over to Caylx who was moaning on the ground.
"She's lost alot of blood. How many walkers are left?" Rick whispered throwing her over his shoulder.
"Alot Glenn is leading them away from here. Hershel is sharp shooting them. And Maggie is at the back of them shooting them off Glenn." Daryl said.
It was odd for Caylx to hear this. They had fantastic battle formations. Its almost as if this were a military and they were training for attacks. So unlike her strategies. Defend, and run. Never attack . Except this was worse than anything she'd ever expierence. Why didnt they just run? She felt so angry for being so lost in her own pain that she couldnt think straight.
"Umph." Caylx groaned as Rick jogged down the hill to what could only be expected.
"The house?" She manged to croak out of her clenched teeth.
"Your safe now-" Rick began but was cut off by a sudden jolt of whatever Caylx knew was happening.
And that wasnt very much.
The only thing she knew was she was being catapoulted through the air. She screamed in terror as she flew away from Rick and landed with a thud.
Her eyes fluttered shut and open again to see several walkers...or people...she couldnt decphire the difference, about her.
And then...Blackness.
