IN THIRD PERSON
It was early when Caylx awakend. About 6 maybe, she thought. The beams of sunlight of an early sunrise wove through the room like ribbons. A large window was on the wall on the opposite side of her bed so she could see through it. An orange sky lit the fields of cows and calves munching on fresh grass. Caylx sat there for a while enjoying the warmth the sun provided until she decided it was best to be up earlier than the others. She slipped on the same pair of shorts from the day before and a thin black tanktop. The new leather boots she was given fit comfortably on her feet and Caylx had grown a little attached to them even though she had only owned them for such a short time.
Caylx quitetly padded across the sleek wooden floor and opened the brass doorknob. A familiar worn brown leather jacket hung on the door knob limply with a note attached to it by a clothes pin.
"Caylx, is this yours? I found it in the woods and it looks small enough to be yours. Even if it ain't keep it. -Daryl" The note read.
She nodded and smiled breathing in the familiar scent of pine and smoke. It was indeed her jacket and she slipped it on with ease looking at all its tiny scratches and flaws remembering each one. Caylx folded the paper carefully and slid the paper into her inside coat pocket and taking out a chain from it. A grin spread across her face as she held the chain up in the sun to examine it. The pearls still intact and untouched just the way shed hoped. With a click, it snapped on to her neck and she left the room. Her bow and quiver of arrows leaned against the door outside and she slipped the strap over her shoulder and continued on noiselessly out of the house.
The early morning air was fresh and humid. It carried the scent of cut grass and pollen. A brief memory of the mornings in the city and the smell of blood shifted through Caylx's mind and she shuddered.
She figured she take a walk over to the barn to get the horse she rode yesterday and perhaps shoot down any walkers near the barn.
When Caylx arrived at the barn the two horses waited patiently nibling on feed and hay in their stalls. It was calm and peaceful as she gathered gear together for the Ale.
As she mounted the horse and rode out of the barn she wasnt sure if she should head into the forest. She maybe could catch some game for the kind people letting her stay here or she could pin down a few walkers, perhaps find some supplies if she was lucky. Caylx nodded and set the pace at a nice trot as she cruised on through the forest keeping keen eyes out for unwanted presences.
Her stay in the woods was both rewarding and calming, on top of that, she returned with in a matter of hours with a mass amount of bounty.
"Where ya been?" Asked Maggie who had just awoken and was sharing a cup of tea with Glenn on the porch.
"The forest." She replied patting the squirrels and rabbits that hung off the belt limply.
"Well Jimmys on his way down to the barn and can take the horse for ya. You go on inside and show my daddy what you got." Maggie smiled up at her with appreciation.
"Well alright then." Caylx smiled hopping off the horse. She removed the long rope hanging off the horse that held her game and she draped it over her shoulder.
Jimmy gave a tip of his hat to us and mounted the horse to go on his way. Glenn gave Caylx an approving nod as she clunked up the wooden steps. Caylx wasnt sure of how she felt about Glenn just yet. He surely kept to himself alot, but if she was wrong it meant that he trusted her just as much as she trusted him. Which wasnt alot. But Caylx gave a simple nod back and headed on her way inside to see Hershel, what seemed to be the man in charge.
