Part 29

Throwback to the last part: Justin picked you up from school and told you about the new house he bought. When you arrive there Selena tells you her idea on how to bleach the contract. After that Justin brought you home and asked you out on a date.

»She's here«, I hear my dad say when I step in the house.
Throwing my keys on the wooden table standing in the corridor I take a deep breath. Exhausted. I'm already feeling exhausted and I didn't even start to talk with my parents. Maybe I don't have to. I know what their reaction will be like. They'll be nothing but upset and angry at me. For whatever reason.
»Hey mom! Hey dad!«, I greet them as I enter the living room.
Both are standing in front of the turned off tv with their eyes on me now.
»Where were you?«
»I will explain everything in a moment. At first we should take a seat«, I tell my parents.
They sit down on the big couch and I make myself comfortable on the armchair ahead of them.
»Do you remember the day when I told you Justin and me would never get in a relationship?«
»Of course I do! It was the best day in my life«, my dad replies whereupon my mom punches his arm lightly.
Nevertheless I continue my short speech.
»We're together«
»You are what?!«, both of them say at the same time.
My dad stands up from the sofa looking at me in disbelief. Why am I telling this though?, I wonder. No matter what they'll say Justin will stay my boyfriend and I'll stay his girlfriend. Dot. They have no idea how I feel at the moment. I'm happier than I ever was. Being in a relationship with Justin is one of my biggest dreams since I've become a Belieber. I never thought this would happen but now that it did I won't let anyone ruin it. Especially not my own parents. They know exactly how much I love him. Maybe that's why they're so exaggerating.
»I know it must be very surprising for you but-«
»Why didn't you tell us?«, my mom asks disappointed,»I thought you wouldn't lie to us about this topic.«
»I didn't. Justin confessed his feeling to me yesterday. Before that he was together with his girlfriend and I absolutely had no idea that he would break up with her«, I tell my mom the truth.
She seems to think about it and I pray to god that they'll understand all of this. My dad raises one of his eyebrows and I sigh narked. His impression makes me think he's going to lecture me and I'm right.
»Justin left the love of his life only because of you. Isn't that sweet?«, he wonders and a fake smile forms on his lips,»Do you really believe he loves you the way you love him?«
I already have my mouth open to say something but I quickly close it again. It's not like I think Justin doesn't love me. He does. I mean he has to love me otherwise he would never ask me to be his girlfriend. He just didn't tell me yet. Justin admitted that he fell for me and he doesn't love Selena anymore. That's enough for the beginning.
»You try to outface me but it's not working. I really like Justin and if he feels the same we'll be in a relationship. I'm not asking for your permission because this is still mu life«
»We only want you to be happy and we need you to tell us the truth«, my mom responds.
I notice my dad nodding agreeable. A rush of emotions runs through my body when I embrace both of them in a tight hug.
»Thank you so much«
»It's okay, honey but we'd like to meet him«, my dad says.
Instantly I imagine myself at a family dinner with Justin. It can't be that bad. One day he'll have to talk with my parents anyway although they already met each other.
»Justin asked me out on a date today. I could invite him here for dinner tomorrow instead and skip the date«, I suggest because it's better to sort things out with my parents first. They agree and I walk in my room with a huge grin on my face. I take out my phone from my jeans pocket to text Justin but freeze as I see a message on my screen.
»I have to cancel the date. Call you tomorrow«, I read out loud.
