Chapter 12

DECEMBER 9TH, 2017

Time has flown by since Dansby got drafted. The Braves didn't make the post season making my job a little more hectic than it should be. Freddie and I still aren't official but we're sort of living together now I guess you could say.

Dansby and I? We talk here and there but nothing serious, he just checks in every now and then and always asks to get me back. I honestly would kill to actually sit down and talk with him, but I know I would just take him back in a heartbeat if I did that.

I don't want to hurt Freddie's feelings either because I really care for Freddie, after everything he's been through with his mom and his ex girlfriend, I can't help but not care for him deeply, the way he should be cared for.

Today I was going out shopping for Christmas and I didn't know what to get anyone this year. I've been so consumed in my job that I've barley spoken to my parents or any friends from school.

I woke up in Freddie's arms like I did every morning and rolled over to face him and give him a kiss to wake him up. "Mmm, now that's how I like to be woken up. Good morning beautiful." He said kissing me again.

"Good morning handsome, are you coming shopping with me today?" I asked rubbing my hands up and dow his bare back. He smiled. "I might just do that. Do you want me to tag along?" He asked and I kissed him. "Of course I do, I would love some company." I said getting out of bed and going into the bathroom.

I turned on the shower and was about to get in when Freddie called my name from the bedroom. I poked my head out the door to see him on his phone. "What's up?" I said and he looked at me with a sad look on his face.

"We just made a trade." He said and I prayed to god it wasn't him who got traded. "Don't worry I didn't get traded. We traded with the Diamondbacks." He said and I knew Dansby had gotten traded over here.

"Who?" I said. "We traded Shelby Miller and Gabe Speier for Ender Inciarte, Aaron Blair and hum Dansby." He said and I sighed and went back into the bathroom and got into the shower. I should've known that he was going to get traded to us eventually.

He's the hometown kid now and everyone was going to love him, I was going to love him again and I don't know if I really wanted to or not. I heard the bathroom door open and I knew Freddie was going to join me in the shower.

"How do you feel?" He asked massaging my shoulders. "Like sick to my stomach. I don't want him here. I don't want to fall in love with him again. I know he'll hurt me like he did, but I know that I'll fall for him again." I said.

"Want me to make that feeling go away?" He asked and I nodded and he started kissing my neck and then finally turning me around and kissing me. Boy did he make the feeling go away real quick.

"Be mine." I said to Freddie. "Wait what?" He said shocked at what came out of my mouth. "Be mine Freddie. I want you to officially be mine." I said and he smiled and kissed me. "So I'll take that as a yes?" I said and he nodded.

I needed to forget about what Dansby did and be with a real man and I know that Freddie can do that for me. I couldn't help but notice how big Freddie's smile was right now. I knew he's been battling with himself on wether or not to ask me out.

So I just jumped the gun and asked him, I know it's not ideal but whatever I don't care. We finished up in the shower and got ready to go shopping. (outfit in media) My phone started ringing as soon as we were about to leave the house.

"Hello?" I said walking out the door with Freddie. "Hello sweetie, I haven't talked to you in awhile, how are you?" My mom asked and I smiled, it felt good to hear her voice again.

"I'm good mom, I know I've been busy that's why I haven't been calling. How are you?" I said getting into the passenger seat of Freddie's car. "I've been good, I see that Dansby got traded today, how do you feel about that?" She asked and I sighed.

"I mean there's nothing I can do about but sit back and wait to see him again but I'm happy for him." I said and Freddie grabbed my hand and rubbed it. "I know, I just don't want you getting hurt again. What are you doing today? I would love to see you." She said and I smiled.

"Freddie and I are actually going shopping at Lenox Square today, you should come down and meet us for lunch." I said and Freddie nodded in agreement even though my mom couldn't see him. "Well that sounds wonderful, is it okay if dad tags along too?" She asked, now that was a stupid question.

"Well of course, I'll see you later." I said and we said our goodbyes and hung up. "So I finally get to meet your parents huh?" He asked as we pulled into the parking lot. "Yes, but I wanna keep it on the DL that we're official okay?" I said.

"Anything for you princess." He said kissing my cheek as we walked into the mall. Before lunch, we went into Aeropostale and Abercrombie and Fitch to get things for my cousins and then went into the Apple store to get my dad a new laptop and then Bath and Body Works to get some stocking stuffers.

We then went and met up for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen where surprising, my parents didn't drill Freddie like they normally would with any other boyfriend, except they didn't know Freddie and I were together.

"I like him, can you date him instead?" My mom said as we were walking out of the restaurant. "I wish mom." I said with a laugh. We parted ways with my parents and continued on our Christmas shopping adventure.

I couldn't help but smile when I looked at Freddie, he was my saving grace in this situation and I couldn't be any happier that I had found him.
