Bad Intentions~Dansby Swanson

Chapter 16

AUGUST 24TH, 2018 

We finally have an off day and everyone needed it basically. Dansby has been doing amazing since he's been called up and I couldn't be more proud of him in this moment. He's been working for this his whole life and he's accomplished so much already in his young career. 

Freddie and I have officially broken up, but we're still friends and now he's moved on to a girl that I set him up with, Chelsea. She and I were friends in high school and lost touch when I went off to Vandy. 

Dansby was taking me on a date tonight and I was actually kind of nervous for it. It's our first date since we were in school and it felt like I just met him and we were going on our first date with all the butterflies that I'm feeling right now. 

My phone was ringing on my bed while I was getting ready and it was my mom. "Hey mom!" I said putting the phone on speaker and going back into the bathroom. "Hey sweetie, how are you doing?" She asked. 

"I'm doing good, just tired from all the traveling and I'm not even playing the games." I said with a laugh. "What are you doing tonight? We should go out and get dinner." I sighed, I didn't know if I should tell her that I'm going out with Dansby again, but she's my mom, I have to tell her. 

"I'm actually going on a date tonight. With Dansby. We're working on things." She sighed on the other end of the phone. "Well as long as you're happy I guess that's all I could ask for." I smiled, I'm glad she understood. 

"I am momma, I can see he's changed. How about I get you and dad tickets to tomorrows game, it's firework night." I said, I really did miss my parents and I wished I could see them more. "That sounds great sweetie, I'm sure your dad will love that idea." 

I smiled. I'm happy that I'll get to see my parents tomorrow, I wished they lived closer or that I lived with them because it sucks not having your parents around anymore and being on your own. To be honest, it gets pretty lonely now that I'm alone most of the time. 

Dansby was taking me on a fancy date tonight so I had to finish doing my hair and makeup and then get dressed before he got here at 7, which it was now 6:15. (outfit in media). I shouldn't be this nervous, it's Dansby. 

We dated for awhile and nothing was awkward between us and now it is and I feel like it's going to be a disaster yet a the same time it's going to be great to talk things out and get back to who we were as a couple. 

Dansby was knocking on my door right at 7 and I opened it and he immediately handed me a bouquet of flowers and I smiled and thanked him. "You ready to go?" He said holding his hand out to mine and I smiled and nodded and we went out to his truck. 

"New truck?" I asked and he laughed. "Yeah I bought it when I signed with the Diamondbacks and I love it." He said and I just nodded and he drove off. We were now in the middle of Atlanta and it was beautiful for being a busy city. 

"So we have a lot of things to discuss." He said after we ordered our food. "Yeah we do, where do we start?" I said taking a sip of my wine. "I want to promise you that I'll never cheat on you again. I can't go through what we went through and I can't stand myself for what I put you through." 

"I know but I'll always have it in the back of my mind that you could possibly do that to me again. You know?" I said and he nodded. "But I'm here to promise you that I won't do that. It was the worst time in my life and I want my time with you to be the happiest time in the both of our lives." 

"Dansby I agree. I love you too much and if you hurt me again we're over for good, got it?" I asked and he nodded. "So does this mean I can ask you to be mine again?" He asked and I laughed. 

"Yes Dansby you can." I said and he pulled something out of his pocket and got down on one knee. Alright this isn't what I had in mind when he asked me to be his again but we'll go with it. 

"Daniella, I know by the look on your face this isn't what you thought I was going to do, but hey if I don't do it now, I don't know when I'll do it or if I'll do it. I love you with all my heart princess. I lost you for a year and I don't want to waste anymore time not being officially yours and this is the best way I can think of doing so. Meeting you that first day of senior year at Vandy changed my life for the better and I know it can get even better if you become my wife. I know we didn't date again, but we kept in touch like we were and I know I've fucked up so many times but I won't do it again. So Daniella, will you become my wife?" He asked. 

I was in tears and I couldn't speak without sounding stupid, so I just nodded my head and he smiled and slipped the ring on my finger and kissed me. "I love you Daniella." He said sitting back in his seat and I wiped my eyes. 

"I love you too Dansby. I wasn't expecting this at all." I said and he laughed. "Well that was my plan all along. Get you out on a date and ask you to marry me because we both know it was going to happen anyway. Why not make it happen sooner rather than later." He said. 

"You are right there. So who is moving in with who now?" I asked as our food came. "How about we buy a house?" Well that's a step. "Yeah I guess we could do that." I said with a smile.

I couldn't believe that I was engaged now, it's so weird to have another ring on my finger and be actually engaged to Dansby. After Vandy I didn't think I'd be with him again and here I am, engaged to him now.
