Bad Intentions~Dansby Swanson

Chapter 14

APRIL 3RD, 2018 

They best day in all of baseball is back, it's Opening Day and I couldn't be any happier to have the season open in New York, it would've been better if we were home, but New York is a second to home. 

Danbsy didn't make the opening day roster and he is in Triple A, which makes my pain a lot easier that it would be if he was up here in the big leagues. I know he'll get called up eventually, but we'll deal with that when the day comes. 

"Hey princess, you gotta get up. We gotta leave in an hour." Freddie said running his hands along my side. I groaned and rolled out of bed and went into the bathroom to take a shower and get ready. (outfit in media)

I straightened my hair and went back out into the bedroom where Freddie was already in his warmups waiting for me to go. "You ready to get breakfast?" He said and I just nodded. I wasn't in the mood to talk today, I was just too tried for anything. 

I've been overthinking everything with Dansby and it's really starting to mess with my head. My heart says go back to Dansby but my head says stay with Freddie, he'll treat you 100 times better than Dansby ever will. 

We walked into Starbucks and the smell made everything better for me, Starbucks literally makes me so happy. If I'm ever in a bad mood, I just go to Starbucks and I'll be fine within twenty minutes. 

"Penny for your thoughts?" Freddie asked as we sat down to drink our coffee. "I'm torn, like really. I've been overthinking everything lately and I hate it." I said taking a sip of my drink and he sighed. 

"Well what does your heart say?" He asked. "To go back to Dansby, but my head says to stay with you because who knows if he'll cheat on me again." I said and he nodded. "You know my thoughts on everything. Just because he's in Triple A doesn't mean you won't see him again." 

"I know, he's going to get called up this year and I'll have to make a decision. He's too good to be down there and we all know it. I was surprised when they sent him down at the end of camp." I said and he agreed with me. My phone buzzed and I took it out and saw Dansby had texted me. 

"Hey, just wanted to say good luck today on opening day. I really wish I was there with you. I love you Daniella. Even if we have our bad times like this, I'll always love you." I sighed and typed back a response. "Thanks Dansby, tear up down there and soon enough you'll be here too. I agree I'll always love you too."

I showed Freddie the text and he smiled. "Now that's progress, you'll get back with him as soon as he comes up. I just know it." I smiled. "And then what are you going to do? You'll be out of a girlfriend then." I said with a laugh as we exited Starbucks. 

"I'll deal with that when the time comes, but for now let's enjoy the time we have together." He said and kissed me. "I would love that Freddie." I said as we got into a car that was taking us to the stadium. 

We both walked into the clubhouse and the guys all goofed around and all I could think about was what if Dansby was here. He would've loved to be here with the guys and all the guys thought he should be here, but it wasn't up to them if he was or not. 

He was going to turn this club around when he does get up here and everyone knew it. He was going to be the hometown hero for this team and it was going to get great publicity for them and  make them a better known team. 

We went through BP and opening ceremony stuff and then it was finally game time and I took my seat in the stands since I didn't have an office here to sit in like I did at home. I took a picture of the field and put it on Instagram.

The game dragged on for me, I'm not used to games going into extra innings, let alone of the first day of baseball. We ended up winning in the 10th thanks to Jace's solo home run. Freddie did amazing at first and even had a couple of hits. 

I went down into the clubhouse and Freddie came over to me and kissed me. "It's all because of you. You're our good luck charm this year." He said and I laughed and waved him off. The guys all got ready and then we all got on the bus and headed to dinner. 

Dinner to say the least was loud and the guys were hyped over their first win of the season against the Mets, the Mets were hard to beat but we did it. "You okay?" Freddie asked putting a hand on my leg and I smiled at him. 

"Yeah I'm good, I just have a headache and you guys are being too loud." I said with a laugh and he kissed my forehead. "I'll make it better later." He said with a wink turning and talking to one of the guys. 

I stayed quiet the rest of the dinner and once we got back to the hotel, Freddie practically dragged me up to our room and then put me against the door and kissed me as passionately as he could. 

"Oh so this is what you had in mind huh Freeman?" I said as he laid me on the bed and took off his shirt. "They say sex helps headaches, so why not try it?" He said coming back down and capturing my lips with his and let me just say, that theory is so true.
