"Let's all play hide and seek!" Ouma exclaimed, an excited glint in his eyes.

"...aren't we a bit old for that?" Kaede asked, a confused expression on her face. Despite us all only having been at the Gifted Inmate's Academy for a short while, we had quite a bit of boring free time on our hands. I was often roped into doing ridiculous activities such as hide and seek as I had nothing better to do.

"I'll count!" Ouma exclaimed, beginning to count numbers out loud. I supposed I, as well as everyone else in the field outside, were roped into playing this game. And as no one had any idea when he would stop counting, we all made breaks for it.

I sprinted past the dorm rooms, slowly running out of breath. Before I could reach the end of the hallway, a door opened, a hand emerging from it. The hand grabbed me, pulling me inside the room.

"Let go!" I protested, squirming under the grip of the hand. Suddenly, I was flung back, meeting face to face with Shinguuji Korekiyo, the Ultimate Anthropologist.

"Hello, miss (y/n)," the calm boy bowed slightly, picking up my hand with a sudden tenderness. I blushed slightly as the boy led me to the sofa in his dorm room, which was completely spotless.

"Hi, Korekiyo-San," I murmured. Truth be told, I found him to be the most perplexing out of all of my new classmates. He was strange, and he had a different aura about him compared to most. "Why did you grab me from the hallway like that?"

"You seemed distraught... what were you running from?" The black haired boy asked sympathetically.

"I got roped into playing a game of hide-and-seek with the others, and so I was trying to find a place to hide."

"Ah, I see. Well, you were being quite noisy," he stated bluntly. In the corner of his room sat a kettle, which was plugged into the wall. "Would you like a cup of tea?"

"Ah, really?!" I stammered. "I'm sorry about that!"

"Nonsense," the boy sighed. "All humans are beautiful, regardless of their behaviors and actions."

I blushed slightly at his words, taking them as some strange way to compliment me. He poured some hot water into a glass and put a tea bag inside, later handing it to me.

"Thank you," I responded as I took the cup from him. I cocked my head in concern suddenly. "Wait, aren't you going to have some yourself?"

He shook his head. "It's not necessary for me right now."

"O-ok," I stammered as I took a sip. "You know, you're a pretty nice guy."

"I..." while his face was mostly covered by his mask, a faint sign of him blushing peeked through. Suddenly, he shook his head, instantly reverting back to his usual calm demeanor. "Thank you, miss (y/n)."

I flashed him a small grin as I continued to sip my tea in silence. He sat down in the chair positioned across from me, his legs crossed and arms at either side of him. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed something unusual in his room. A bundle of red rope sat in the corner, which only raised my suspicion. I opened my mouth to ask him about it, but I promptly shut it.

Suddenly, we were interrupted by the sound of banging on the door. I yelped and jumped up as I heard a familiar voice cry out. "Korekiyo-San!! We've looked everywhere! Do you know where (y/n)-chan is?"

He looked at me with a glint of panic in his amber eyes as he walked over to answer the door. I determined I would need to find a hiding place before I was found out.

"She's not in here," Korekiyo murmured in his soothing, buttery voice, which always sounded immaculately clear despite being muffled by his mask.

"How can I trust you, you big creep?! You're probably using her to experiment on or something!" Ouma exclaimed. Suddenly, hearing his words evoked some rage in me. I stood up and stormed towards the door, at which they both stood.

"He's not creepy," I snapped angrily.

"Oh! Found you!" Ouma exclaimed in amusement. "Come back, let's play another game!"

"No. Don't talk to Shinguuji-Kun like that," I ordered. "And I'm going to sit this one out."

"You're no fun!" The purple haired boy poured before slamming Korekiyo's door so hard that the walls shaked. He turned to me afterwards with a pained expression on his face.

"I'm sorry, miss (y/n)," he apologized. "I fear what will become of you if you continue to spend time with me... also, I'm not entirely sure if being alone in a man's room is entirely a good idea, despite the fact that I am a man of honor."

"I don't mind," I sighed as I plopped down onto his bed, sitting at the edge of it. He placed one of his bandaged hands on the side of his face as he looked at me in shock. "I like spending time with you, Korekiyo-Kun. I don't really care about what the other students might think of it."

His face flushed even pinker this time, as it was more noticeable. "Thank you, miss (y/n). Your words are so kind, and they only further prove the fact that humans are beautiful creatures."

"Um... thanks?" I giggled nervously.

"Are you sure you don't want to leave me?" He asked unsurely.

"I don't," I assured him. "I promise. You're not nearly as bad of a guy as the other kids might pretend."

"Well, in that case..." Korekiyo murmured, placing a bandaged finger on his chin. His eyes suddenly turned towards the rope, and he seemed as if he was holding himself back from doing something. "I'm sorry, miss (y/n), but it'd be best if you left immediately. We can spend time together later, but for now..."

"No, I want to stay," I insisted firmly. The boy shut his eyes tightly, suddenly opening them to reveal a strange glint in them. He walked over and grabbed the red rope, slowly inching towards me.

"I warned you..." he murmured, his voice wavering slightly. It was as if he was possessed, and something else was controlling him. While I was afraid, I didn't move an inch. I wanted to prove to him that I wouldn't leave no matter what happened.

"Last chance," he breathed, now in closer proximity to me. I only sat there, completely unmoving.

"Forgive me for what I am about to do, miss (y/n). It is only to inspect your beauty as a human. I warned you."
