"Saihara...?" I froze in place, unsure of what to say or how to react. I had just caught Saihara, my soon-to-be-ex boyfriend, dead in the act of cheating with me. It wasn't just that, no, he was making out with my best friend Kaede out in broad daylight.

"I can explain!" He yelled, a shocked look on his face. His eyes narrowed in fear, though he couldn't move an inch either.

"You.. cheated on me?" I asked him, my eyes filling up with tears.

"It's not what it looks like!" He insisted, my stomach churning at the sound of the cheesy and overused line. He suddenly walked towards me, reaching out to touch me. I batted his hand away, retracting a few feet.

"Don't touch me," I hissed angrily, distancing myself even farther.

"(Y/n).. please..." he begged desperately. I merely shook my head, which set off something in him. He balled his fists, suddenly clenching his jaw. "Fine! I never loved you anyways!"

I didn't even react to his claim, merely turning away and beginning to walk home. Just before I left, I turned and made one final statement to him.

"Go to hell."

The next day, I was sitting at my desk with my head down. No one came to disrupt or bother me, which I quite enjoyed. I merely sat there, completely emotionless. That was, until someone approached me. I felt a hand gently caress my shoulder, at which I jumped up in surprise.

"What do you want?!" I yelled angrily, though I immediately cooled off when I saw Amami staring at me with a concerned expression. He sat atop the desk next to me, letting out a small sigh.

"...you feeling alright?" He asked, concern evident in his voice.

I shook my head. "What does it look like? I don't know if I'll ever be alright again, you know..."

"I know you will be, with time," he assured me. "You're a strong girl, (y/n). You know you can pull through this better than anyone else."

"You're just saying that," I pouted solemnly.

"No," he sighed. "You know I'm not. Don't be so difficult, you know what I'm saying is true."

"Guess you're right," I gave in, turning to face him. "I just didn't take Saihara as being the type to... cheat, ya know?"

"One hundred percent," he agreed. "People tend to think I'm the type to do that, but I could never do that to anyone. I suppose it's always the people you suspect the least."

"And, with Kaede of all people..." I sighed, the flashbacks of yesterday's events filling my mind. I felt myself tear up again, promptly rubbing the tears out of my eyes. "...I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize!" He ordered, suddenly climbing off of the desk to hug me. "There's nothing to be sorry for. You're being honest with me. Just know... I'm here for you, ok? No matter what."

He pulled me out of his hug, a smile on his face. I nodded my head in agreement.

"I'll keep it in mind."

A few weeks had passed since the breakup, and I had thankfully gotten myself over it. I couldn't help but feel lonely, however, as I had lost both my boyfriend and my best friend. I packed up my things for the day one rainy afternoon, putting them neatly in my backpack.

"Hey," a voice called, pulling my attention from my belongings. Amami towered over me, a tiny smile on his lips. I slung my back over my shoulder and stared at him, perplexed.

"Hmm? What's up?" I asked him naively.

"You want to head to the library and do a little studying? We do have a test tomorrow, after all," he offered, his eyes glued to the ground.

"Yeah!" I exclaimed happily, the two of us walking next to each other as we headed to the library.

Once we made it in, we spent a few hours productively getting our work done. That wasn't to say that we didn't joke around, however. It was pleasant to spend time with someone like that after a while of sadness and loneliness.

As things grew silent between us, some strange noises filled the mainly empty library.

"Let's go find out what those are," he whispered softly to me, lightly nudging me behind him. "Stay back."

"Alright," I nodded in response. We turned to look around the bookshelf, though he insisted that he would go first.

"Really, you two?!" Rantarou yelled, folding his arms. The look on his face read pure anger, and I wasn't sure what was going on. Suddenly, I peeked around the corner. And in that moment, regret and fury welled up inside me.

Saihara and Kaede were at it. Again.

I cupped my hands over my mouth, all of the horrifying flashbacks coming back to me. Rantarou became furious, storming over to them. "Coming here to rub your relationship in your ex girlfriends face? And in a fucking library too?! Get a room! Or a life! You're fucking pathetic!"

The two of them ran out of the library, not even responding to his outburst. I let out an exhausted sigh, still slightly traumatized from the scene.

"Sh..." Amami whispered, wrapping his arms around me. "It's ok."

"I'm alright," I insisted sincerely. "I'm over it. It doesn't bother me anymore. I'm ready to move on."

"...are you serious?" He asked in disbelief. I nodded, a small smile creeping up on my lips.

"Well, in that case," he smiled, his cheeks tinged slightly pink. His face grew closer to mine, his eyelids lowering. "Do you mind?"

"Not in the slightest," I whispered, closing my eyes as well. We kissed for a few moments, making sure to keep it briefer than Saihara and Kaede did. Once we pulled away, Amami had a strange expression on his face.

"Do you know how long I've been waiting for that?" He asked, laughing slightly.

"No. How long?"

"Ever since you started dating that asshole."

I chuckled. "Well, looks like you won't have to wait any longer."
