Show me I didn't make a mistake writing this by showing it some love ;))))
---I quickly threw on my outfit for lunch, admiring the craftsmanship required to construct it in the mirror. I felt a nervous pang in my chest as I grabbed the doorknob in my room, but I chose to ignore it and fling myself through the door, walking out into the hallway.
I tried my best to take all of the back-routes in the castle, avoiding being spotted by any of the other girls. I could only imagine what kind of scrutiny I would face if they found me; though most of the girls tend to have little crushes on Ouma's friends Saihara or Amami, barely even mentioning the prince himself, that wasn't to say they wouldn't eat me alive.
I walked into the dining hall, one singular rectangular table sitting in the middle of the spacious room. At the end of it say the prince himself, sitting in his signature pose with his arm under his head.
"You came!" He exclaimed in delight, gesturing to the seat at the other end of the long table with his other hand. "Please sit down! You look lovely!"
"Thank you..." I stammered, the events from the night before playing in my head. I quickly sat down in the seat, feeling awkward as I wasn't accustomed to being one of the dinner guests.
"So... tell me, why'd a pretty girl like you take up maid work in the first place?" The purple haired boy asked as a maid I (thankfully) hadn't seen before brought out two small cups of soup.
"Well.. my family is pretty middle-of-the-road, but they thought that I should make a little money for them before I go to university," I explained nervously, tugging at the collar of the outfit.
"Ah! I see! So this isn't permanent or anything!" The prince exclaimed, a wide smile on his face. I made eye contact with him, my face turning bright pink upon doing so. "How much longer till you're done?"
"they won't say," I admitted. "More than likely a f-few more months..."
"Wait a minute. You're also new here, aren't you? Doesn't that mean you've been staying in the... wait, what do they call them? The slums! Oh yeah!"
"The slums?!" I shouted in shock. "Well yeah, my room does seem to be a little more distanced from all of the other maids', though I haven't ever been to any of their rooms..."
"For a reason," he jibed playfully. "They always give the newer maids the dingy rooms. And considering you're only going to be here for a small while longer, that may be where you'll stay. Unless... something else can be arranged."
"I beg your pardon?" I asked anxiously. The prince leaned forward, his grin turning into a devious smirk.
"You could stay in my room, with me," he offered, his tone making him sound like he told me he was going to massacre everyone dear to me. I leaned back in my chair, trying to make myself look as small as possible.
"You're really cute when you're embarrassed!" He exclaimed in blunt delight. I scoffed, unsure of how exactly to respond. I didn't want to endure what kind of hazing I'd get if I took him up on his offer, but at the same time... it would have been foolish to not, right?
"Can I really?" I questioned him in disbelief. His mouth gaped in shock, as if he never expected me to take him up on the offer in the first place.
"Nishishishi... well, of course you can!" The prince yelled happily. He snapped his fingers bad the maid from earlier appeared, rushing to stand next to him. He whispered something in her ear for a while before the maid hurried away.
The rest of the meal passed by uneventfully, the two of us talking about ourselves and our pasts and telling each other funny stories that came to mind. By the time dessert had rolled around-- cupcakes-- I had made myself fairly comfortable with the prince.
"Yay! Dessert!" He exclaimed as the maid brought out two cupcakes on tiny plates. I took it into my hand, peeling off the wrapper quietly.
"Woah, wait a second!" The prince yelled, startling me from my slight daze. He suddenly sprung up from his chair, rushing towards me.
"What...?" I asked nervously, him placing his finger on the frosting of his own dessert.
"You got a little something right there," he stayed with a straight face as he placed the frosting covered finger onto the tip of my nose. I felt fury well up inside me as I put some frosting on my own finger, promptly getting some on his nose as well.
"Ok! Ok! Truce!" He giggled mischievously. "Though... you want me to get that frosting off of your nose for you!"
"Well yeah! You did the crime, so you should!" I huffed in mock anger.
"Ok, I got you," he smiled, his face inching closer to mine. "Don't move, ok?"
Sure enough, I felt his tongue awkwardly lick the frosting off of my noise. My cheeks turned hot at the closeness, though I hadn't the slightest clue how to react. Even after the fact, we stayed with our faces close together for a few moments.
"Fuck.. I can't take this anymore..." he murmured under his breath. Next thing I knew, I felt his lips pressed against mine, him wrapping his arms around me. After getting over the initial shock, I fought to kiss back, my heart racing at the sudden gesture.
Once he finally pulled away, I quickly noticed the frosting on his nose. I licked it quickly, the boy's smug expression distorting into one of shock.
"Why you...!" He yelled in a mixture of anger and confusion. "Let me rephrase. Why are you.. so amazing?"
"I could ask the same for you," I admitted with a giggle.
"Well, I'm sure lucky to have met you, that's for sure. I've never met a single girl like you," he replied, the slightest hint of a blush on his cheeks.
"Well, I want to be yours," I murmured. "Sorry, I am nothing but a lowly maid..."
"Even if you are, you are my lowly maid."
